While this is an obviously old video (B&W) and in Russian, But you can see that these dogs are bred and live for this shite...
It's a little long, but it's another testament to how fricking cool dogs are
quote:

One of the biggest, meanest, most fierce dogs on earth is a little known breed that originally came out of Georgia (the country, not the state) known as the Georgian Sheep Dog, or the Caucasian Shepherd Dog.

The dogs were originally used as sheep herders. They have the amazing ability to detect real threats from fake threats. However, during the days of Joseph Stalin, the dogs also became known as “Russian Hell Hounds,” because Stalin and his henchmen would use them to kill people. Watch how fierce of a fighting machine these dogs are in the vintage video below, as one of them kills not one, but two wolves.

My meme dog would strike humor in the heart of those dogs and leave them rolling around laughing on the floor while he would just walk by like nothing happened.

Wolves don't stand a chance against those dogs.

ETA: I've posted that vid on here once before. Good stuff.

Actually one of the bigger twats of the Livestock Guardian breeds...

Malaks are not to be messed with.

Sarplaniaks are pretty roughgoing too.

Especially given those were quite small malnourished wolves. That's why they attacked multiple sheep rather than killing and eating one.

If you ever see the fights between the larger wolves and the big guardian dogs, none have more than about a 60% success rate in one on one.

You always have multiples, usually odd numbers. The deterrent isnt that they can kill the wolves, the wolves don't risk injury when easier prey is present.

I'd like to see what was bred together to get these.

I wouldn't call that a dog.

Well, in fairness, the jeans aren't the most flattering.

That's the thing with these breeds. They don't work like that.

They are thousands of years old, some literally 10k, and have been bred for function this entire time. Most don't have health issues and live as long, or longer, than smaller breeds.

Only the strong ones survived to breed.

All originally looked like the large Eurasian wolves.

You know who needs a pack of these?

Mountain lion hunters in big sky country. Lion hounds are great for handling solitary mountain lions, but the freakin' wolves - who no longer fear man - think of them as prey - they get far ahead of the human hunters and the wolves take them before the hunters can react.

Have a group of these dogs - kind of like linebackers in between the hunters and the lion hounds. Wolves show up and think about an easy snack of the lion hounds, and the Hell Hounds go, "What now bitches?"
