Dawson, Anderson and Porter are showing out at Pro Day.

Porter is running full route tree precisely and catching everything in sight while putting up great numbers. He may have just gone from UDFA to late round drafted.

TCU LB Paul Dawson weighed 230. He ran 4.82 and 4.77 with 30-inch vertical. Scouts said his position drills were better than at combine.

I told everybody to wait out for his pro day. I really felt like he'd redeem himself and it looks like he did. His 40 isn't fantastic, but it's a lot better, and he plays a lot faster on tape.

Yeah he looked a lot better.

I'll fill in stats as they become available. Check the OP later tonight/tomorrow.

I'm done for a bit.

I think both Dawson & McKinney are better suited to play in defenses that have athletic OLB's & savy safeties who can read & diagnosis plays quickly. We have that type of safety in Byrd but the book is still open on Vaccaro. At the moment, we don't have that type of LB on the outside.

I think Bud Dupree has a better chance of reaching his full potential playing on a defense that has a commanding force in the middle of their defensive line. He's going to be a bit of a liability right off the bat when teams run directly at him but he has the athletic ability to make up for that on passing downs with his rushing skills. We have that type of potential in the middle with Hicks & Jenkins but they have to become more consistent. I think Dupree would thrive in a defense like the Dolphins with Cameron Wake on one side & Suh in the middle. He wouldn't have to deal with so much attention in his direction.

Dawson's production on the field cannot be discounted. I think this dude would start at ILB.

That's the only time I've seen that mentioned and I can't confirm that yet.

Not saying he isn't... but can't confirm.

WalterFootball Pro Day notes...

More on Dawson...

His weight of 230 pounds today was five pounds lighter than the combine, when he tipped the scale at 235 pounds. Dawson posted a long jump of 10-0, 11 inches better than his combine mark. Dawson's drill work was fantastic as he looked smooth, quick and explosive.

Why was he so much better today than a month ago? I'm told Dawson strained a hamstring during his initial attempt in the 40 at the combine, but chose to soldier through the rest of the workout.

Was today's performance enough to push Dawson into the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft? Well, it was likely enough to keep him in the top 45.

Dawson met with the Minnesota Vikings last night and has an official visit to the team's facility in the coming weeks. He'll also be visiting the Carolina Panthers. Dawson will also be working out for the New England Patriots.

I'm told cornerback Kevin White improved on his combine time in the 40, hitting in the mid-4.5-second range on most watches and then looked good in drills.

This is all very promising. I can 100% believe the hammy story too. It wasn't that he just looked unathletic, something just didn't look right. You know?

I have literally 0% affiliation with TCU

In fact if you go back and look, I was one of the few people who defended the College Football Committee's final ranking when it initially came out, and thought Baylor and Ohio St. we're correctly put ahead of them, FWIW ha.

he was a scrappy guy during Senior Bowl week. He pretty much got after and was challenging the WR's probably more than any other DB I can think of that week.

He was usually in good position and didn't look hesitant at all.

Also pulled a muscle at Combine... apparently did much better today. Not a lot of numbers out so far... Curiosity killing me.
