Child's Play; I had a My Buddy doll at the time and they looked very similar. I never played with it again after I saw that movie.

I bet that movie really hurt the My Buddy product.

Halloween (78)

Freddy, Jason, monsters, vampires, werewolves, demons...none of them have shite on Michael Myers when it comes to being unnerving.

I'd rather be woken up in the middle of the night with Pennywise asking me if I want to come float in the sewers than see that bastard standing over me.

Predator was my favorite movie growing up and remains one of my favorites, but it obviously was never a scary movie.

However, I've had nightmares before where I was being hunted by a Predator for some reason. Predator may not be a horror film, but that bastard becomes scary as hell when it feels like he's hunting you.

The House That Dripped Blood (1971) - Saw this one at a drive-in theater when I was five but hardly remember much of it.

So, I'm going with The Exorcist (1973)

Honorable:

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
Race with the Devil (1975)

I was 6 or 7. That movie made me terrified of all water when I was a kid. Even bathtubs.

My brother was 6 when we saw this in the theater in '75. We had bunk beds but since our room was large our parents separated them. That night I woke up hearing my brother screaming, my mom came to the room, turned the light on and my brother is standing in bed and trying to climb the wall yelling, "Jaws is going to get me! Jaws is going to get me!"
