Was thinking of the egg rice topic
and using leftover rice.

Question1.
do you eat leftovers regularly ?

2. how many more times after initial meal could you eat your
favorite leftover before you were burnt out on it?

I normally have my supper leftovers for lunch. If I make a big pot of something, sometimes I eat on it until it is gone, sometimes I freeze it. 3-5 meals is about it.

And I like to make a leftover rice omelette. Add cooked down green onion and bell pepper and some browned ground sausage. Mix all together and make an omelette out of it.

Your thread will get the anchor with a one word topic. They tend to like at least 3 words.

Depends on the leftovers. I can eat roast and rice 'n gravy at least twice and a roast beef poboy thereafter.

When I make big pots of gumbo, I can do that about 3 nights.

I'm not a leftover lover, but I can usually eat most things one more time and that's my limit with some exceptions. Some foods just lose quality or are overcooked as leftovers and I won't eat those at all. I'm not big on leftover steak unless I sear cut slices quickly for a steak sandwich or a cold steak salad, which I'm not that fond of anyway. Can't remember the last time I had one.

Lasagna is okay reheated and I will sometimes make a meatball sandwich with leftover meatballs and gravy.

Beef bourguignon, coq au vin, braised short ribs and things like that work out pretty well. I'll make some of this type of stuff on a weekend to have several times during the work week when I know I'm not going to have time to cook much. I freeze a lot of things for easy meals like that, though.

Depends on so much. As a general rule, I say I don't eat leftovers but it isn't really true.

I had so much left over from my lunch today that I brought the rest home and am eating it now. This is how much is left AFTER already eating lunch's worth.

Leftover spaghetti, lasagna, pretty much any pasta is a YES. Same for mixed things like casseroles, jambalaya, gumbo, etc.
Leftover meat and 3 isn't a NO necessarily but I usually say I'll eat it and don't.

I do not eat anything leftover on bread. No burgers or sandwiches or pizza or anything like that. Also not a fan of leftover fried foods or buffalo wings. Oh, and no leftover fish.

Eta: if a leftover is deemed acceptable to me, I only eat it once more.
If it's something huge like a baked pasta or gumbo, it gets frozen in individual servings.

I can't do that if it's a meat and 3.

Last night I only took 3 thighs out of the package and froze the rest because if I make a whole pack of chicken thighs, they won't get eaten.

And still, I made enough for 2 servings and the 2nd serving will be trashed since I've already left my apartment for the weekend and it's in my fridge.

Costco has the best chicken thigh packaging. The basic unit is the individual 4-pack, and they comes 6 to a full package. I cut the six 4-packs apart and freeze them individually. One 4-pack is the perfect amount to make 6-8 servings of chicken soup or jambalaya, both of which freeze excellently.

Don't as much as I should, recent case in point, did some awesome bbq chicken and potato salad on Sunday. Ate potato salad with a sammich monday night and never ate the chicken again.

I can not stand throwing food away, makes me think of all those less fortunate that don't have a meal to eat and here I am throwing away a bag of food.

I think about the leftovers as I'm making a meal.

I always over-make things like scratch mashed potatoes for the next couple days use.

I tend to do ham, chicken and turkey in large sizes for future use. Even mac n' cheese.

I hate wasting food.

Okay this is twice today someone says they do something because they're an adult.
First, The Indulger said he hold his poops ALL DAY LONG for when he gets home "because he is an adult".

And now this!

I am clearly nowhere near an adult I poop when I have to, and I don't like many leftovers.

I typically cook enough to have leftovers, sometimes 2 more days worth. For instance, I grilled salmon on Monday and we ate that w/ asparagus and baked potato.. On Tuesday we had salmon burgers and on wednesday salmon tacos. I also ate cold salmon on my toast for breakfast a couple of times.

My family lives off of leftovers. Usually cook something big on the weekend and maybe if I'm lucky have time to cook during the week. I've become quite good at reinventing leftovers. For example, smoke a Boston butt on the weekend and use the leftovers to make bbq nachos, enchiladas or grilled cheese.
