Chick Fil A should offer him a job at one of their restaurants.

He would just dip his balls in the lemonade to show the white privilege assholes, what's what!

When did Americans become so blood thirsty? Guy is an arse and people get off on him getting fired and his life being ruined. Strange society we live in these days

ultimately, I side with Adam Smith. I love their damn chicken though.

Why would you side with a bully?

If he'd done the same thing at a Starbucks counter, except he berated the cashier about Starbucks being pro-gay, would you think he's a hero?

And, contemplate that for a moment. This means he watched the video afterwards and STILL thought it was awesome. That's why his "apology" is horse shite. He claims in the apology video to have had remorse for how he talked to her as soon as he was finished.

I don't like people to suffer, but I can understand not wanting to hire a loose cannon like that for an executive level job.

Social media is a powerful thing. Perhaps too powerful. I'd have more sympathy for him if he did not record the incident himself and post it online as if he was acting rationally or admirably.

Very good point. I agree that he doesn't deserve a life sentence.

On the other hand, I would have serious reservations about entrusting any meaningful responsibility to him.

He fails the google test. He should consider changing his name.

But what about his freedom of speech? It's funny how the same posters that argued the SAE kids should be protected by freedom of speech are saying this guy deserved to be fired. I guess it only matters if you share the "victims" beliefs. Dude should have known better. Too much at risk to prove a point or make a statement.

Would you hire Adam Smith to an executive level position at your company? Keep in mind that your employees, clients, suppliers, and shareholders can just as easily google his name as you could.

It isn't like he tweeted an off color joke or a 3rd party recorded him while he was intoxicated (which is bad enough). He recorded it and posted it online because he felt that treating a young girl that way is admirable. That says a lot about him.

I totally agree. He, just like everyone else, has to be accountable for everything we do and say. He, like the baseball player in PA and the SAE, didn't make a wise choice and is suffering the consequences

He exercised it, as he is free to do so. His former employer exercised theirs, and terminated him, and others exercised theirs and berated him. He wasn't arrested, so I fail to see how he was denied his freedom of speech.

Big difference between the University of Oklahoma (an arm of the government) and an employee of a private company that depends on public goodwill for its existence.

If those SAE morons have trouble getting a job because that video comes up in a background check, it sucks but you can't blame a potential employer for wanting to avoid them. I also have zero issue with the nationals revoking their charter (they harmed the SAE brand), or with OU withdrawing recognition of their fraternity. I just think expelling them was out of bounds, and even then only because OU is a public university.

Read my whole post. My point was that the same posters that were defending the SAE kids, arguing freedom of speech seem to be happy with what happy with what has happened to this guy. Just ironic to me

I dunno...there are a LOT of people named Adam Smith out there. Googling that name will get you the author of "Wealth of Nations". You'll also get a couple of professors, a pro soccer player, and a college basketball player.

If it weren't for the book and the recent news article, this idiot probably wouldn't be on the first ten pages. He'd be well advised to humble himself, take a job as an obscure cubicle monkey, and let everyone forget. If he's a good enough worker he should eventually make his way back to the top.

I agree with most of this. The students can go elsewhere to get an education. Oklahoma, just like SAE, has to protect their brand as well even if they are a public institution. They deny acceptance all the time so they very well revoke enrollment

I feel bad for people who just get caught up in the vortex. They make a boneheaded tweet or, get caught saying something in the moment that they'd like to have back.

THIS guy didn't accidentally do this shite. He thought it out. Moreover, and THIS is the most important part. Had it gone the other way........had people like him successfully ruined the livelihoods of Chic Fil A employees, they'd STILL be jacking off to the results. Hell, he STILL pretty much seems to want that. Read the forward to his book. The man has learned NOTHING.

So, until he does, he's probably not going to get hired and, I will have no sympathy for him.

Exactly.

We're talking about a guy who not only put a great deal of thought into "acting" and then figured attacking the drive thru clerk was the right way to go........he then watched the f'n video and thought, "man, look, I done good" and posted the shite.

This is a man of exceedingly poor temperament with godawful decision making abilities.

The SAE kids in the video have to live with their decisions. All other members of SAE fraternity should not have to.
