Lobbyists going home.
ETA: the temperature in ATL dropped 30 degrees in the last 24 hours. Just FYI before you trek to international for the outside lounge. "The Club" is right across the way with the better free beers and little sammiches and all.

I doubt I will get to go to any of them - I pushed back my flight to the noon flight and now only have a 45 min layover

This really is not some absolutely horrible amount of time. What airports do you normally fly out of, because I would take this time frame WAY over DFW, PHX or many other comparably sized airports.
I fly Southwest because of convenience. Non-stop flights to almost everywhere I need to go and if there is a connection it's at Hobby airport which is small and fast and not a cluster like DFW, ATL, and Charlotte.

I think we all travel extensively which means we all know the good and bad of small vs large airports. It is disingenuous to label Atlanta as a cluster. Most people like to talk about it as though it is some horrible airport, but they are mostly people that don't travel that much so the thought of a layover or connection make them mad.
I like the convenience of small airports as much as the next person, but don't tell me that you haven't had to wait a hell of a long time at regional airports because "Pre-check is currently closed, hold this piece of paper". If you mostly fly out of small airports, then you know what i am talking about and how complaining over the "extra time" it takes to get through ATL airport is not entirely true.

JFK isn't one of the 10 busiest airport that is shocking

You have to rember it's splitting traffic with La Guardia and Newark.

Atlanta is a great airport.

JFK is also 1 of the 2 airports where the federal government has oversight of the slots
