The HTC One M9 Plus will be announced in China on April 8th

From what we’re hearing, the new HTC One M9 will debut in China, and have plenty to offer over the original One M9. We’re not yet sure about all the specs, or if it will ever come to the United States, but a few reports claimed it would be released stateside at some point. That all said, here’s what we know.

Rumor has it the One M9 Plus will feature a slightly larger 5.2-inch Quad-HD display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, and be powered by an 8-core MediaTek processor and 3GB of RAM. Users will get 32GB of internal storage, a micro-SD slot, and two cameras on the rear. One being a 20.7 megapixel camera like the HTC One M9, and a secondary 13 megapixel camera, similar to the “Duo Camera” from the One M8 in 2014.

This device will still have the dual front facing Boomsound speakers, but the bottom speaker will be split by what looks to be a dedicated hardware home button housing a fingerprint scanner.

Man that section you included is confusing as hell. The article clarifies though, if anyone else didn't follow.

Why would they release a 5.0 and a 5.2 inch phone? Or did I read that wrong?

Battery life is a top issue with phones today. They are all fast enough, big enoigh, take good pictures.

Give me a phone that lasts A week with heavy usage.

I really wish society was such that this product would be a strong enough seller; however, most people are not going to buy a phone unless it is BEST BEST BEST.

I want a phone with a quality screen but only necessary resolution and mid-range specs and a big arse battery. And a midrange camera, too. I dont need 500000 pixels per cm on a damn phone camera.

This really is the key. Unfortunately, you have to wait for someone to run these things hard to find out. A bigger battery doesn't necessarily mean it will last longer.

My concern with the M9+ version is that it still looks like there are no buttons actually on the HTC black bar. This is a huge waste of space and a serious design flaw that is one of the reasons I'm not going with the M9.

Lots of speculation for this design is the boom sound speaker placement causes space concerns inside the device, and so the black bar is needed. But my M7 has buttons on the black bar, and the pics of this M9+ show the boom sound speakers broken up by the finger print sensor. Why can they add that feature, but not put physical buttons back on the phone?

Ahh. Didn't see his + in the title. Writing plus instead of + would help out the elderly.

Anyway, since I am wasting space in this thread, I'll offer my professional opinion. That thing is a fricking eye sore. That button is hideous and nothing on the front of that phone is asthetically pleasing or symmetrical. Specs aren't everything. Take the quote below for exibit A:

The speakers are great actually. I just don't like how they use them as an excuse by saying they prevent them from being able to have buttons on the bar, or even requiring the need of the bar itself.

And do you really think it makes any sense to have them on the back of phones? I laugh whenever I see people "cupping" their iPhones so they can hear sound while watching a youtube video.

Hell, this is such a bad design that an entire market of iPhone amplifiers has popped up.

etc, etc, etc
