Seriously, someone please explain to me why it's "not cool" to blame the refs.

Jesus christ, I'd be sick to my stomach cheering MVP for Harden knowing a good portion of his points come from the FT line bc opponents so much as look at him wrong. The only good that can come from tonight is it being the nail in the coffin for Monty.

They fricked us in LA.

32 free throws for the Pelicans

12 for the Rockets.

And some of those 12 free throws came from the Pelicans fouling on purpose at the end of the game.

So

Yeah the refs didn't give Harden all the stupid calls he usually gets every other game. I think the league must have had an initiative out because the media has been focusing on his bull shite calls the last several days. I think Harden will not get the excessive calls in the playoffs also and he will not look like the same player.

Not thats not it.

Ken Mauer reffed this game. He is very reluctant to give Harden calls.

refs weren't the issue tonight... it was EG doing absolutely nothing offensively and AD missing FTs (both were very uncommon)

now when the played the Clippers this past Sunday... the refs were absolutely worth the blame (esp. the phantom AD goaltend on a put back dunk when the ball was almost 6 inches outside the rim... which ended up being a 5 point swing)

Yes and no, he won't get a lot of those touch calls he gets in the regular season but honestly he probably gets about 4 out of his average 10 from that.

The guy throws his arms and body into defenders and forces contact on almost every play, it's amazing actually.

If we won, then the Rockets fans would complain bout the refs.

See where I'm going with this?

Yes. I think anyone that watches basketball would disagree with that. He averages 10 ft attempts this season and 7 for his career. Kobe, Jordan and Wade all had seasons with higher ft attempts and have a higher career average but you think that Harden is fooling the refs every game.

I never said he was fooling the refs at all.

I was simply saying he is the best at drawing contact and he's still gonna get calls in the playoffs because of that. Just all the little hip check calls and "could go either way" calls don't get called in the playoffs.

I'm not knocking harden at all, I think he's the MVP unless Russ keeps racking up the triple doubles

The general consensus I've seen around the league is that Harden is very good at what he does. There were several comments from Pelicans players like Gordon, Asik, Tyreke and Monty before the game yesterday and all of them talked about what he does with respect, I didn't get the slightest indication they thought he was getting cheap calls rather than being good at attracting fouls.

I thought the game was called fine. Harden was blantantly fouled at the end of the third quarter when he drove the lane but it wasn't called.
