Damn. Nostalgia overload. I remember loving that game, but it also being pretty damned hard at some parts. Some levels were really fun, and others made me rage pretty hard for a 8-10 year old . Definitely remember the mixed emotions of that bike level..at first it was so cool, then it sunk in how damn impossible it was to beat. That level in your last pic I remember being stuck on for a long time...think I just couldn't figure out where I was supposed to go. Funny how those random memories stick with you.
I liked Rogue Squadron a lot more overall, though

Speaking of games that aged well, I think Battlefront and Battlefront 2 aged pretty well, I still have fun with both of those. Really excited for the reboot.

On another note, I played the hell out of the Star Wars flying game on N64

For me:
KOTOR
Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast
Rogue Squadron
Shadows of the Empire (maybe should be above RS because it was the father to RS because of the awesome Hoth Level). Also, the movie music in this game is glorious and really added to each level.

Maybe I played it too late but I always remember this being one of those games I coveted when I couldn't play it and then was disappointed when I finally did. I don't think it even breaks my top ten Star Wars games.

That sewer level with the jet pack was a bitch

man, I can just remember unboxing that game. I probably stared at the cover art for an hour. So incredible. The score was great. I just remember the opening sequence when you approach the millennium falcon and it takes off, and then later when you shoot a storm trooper off an ice cliff and he screams...the game was just so epic for the time
After some more reflection, the rest of the game was pretty good.

That vaguely rings a bell. I also remember a level where you're on some moving platform, like some sort of rail system. I remember it being really tough. I know I finally caved and went over to a friend's house who knew the cheats or had a strategy guide or something
ETA: Here's video of a playthrough LINK This guy makes it look easy, but watching this brought up some bad memories of some of those lvels

Yeah it was
Outrider was awesome
Bike chase was frantic and really got you into it
The sewers were kind of cool in a weird way
Boba fett level was the best...and by far the most challenging
There was a space station level that was awesome
And it was the first of many awesome experiences dropping walkers with tow cables (super empire doesn't count)

This game might have the best opener of all time.
Hoth battle was incredible.

I see a lot of fondness for battlefront, and KotOR
I kind of think the most obvious game to make is the one they haven't made.
a mix of
Super Star Wars (empire/jedi)
Rogue Squadron
Shadows of the empire
The Force Unleashed
there were problems with all of them
Super Star Wars wasn't 3d
Rogue Squadron didn't have any ground stuff (well good ground stuff)
Shadows had a primitive control scheme and was a new character...we'd all rather be han or luke and use a lightsaber at some point
The Force Unleashed was lightsaber overload. Even with all of the stuff I could do with the force, I got bored swinging around a lightsaber. Why can't I just pull out a blaster and start offing people like the SNES games.
who doesn't want to control luke as he goes through cloud city or completes his training? between the force, a blaster and a lightsaber you'd have enemies and obstacles that are suitable to the one thing, but you'd still have the choice to do the others. Throw in the epic space battles rogue squadron style and you'd have an epic game

yeah, it was a tone setter. They used only certain tracks from the empire score and it suited everything perfectly. We all remember playing that level because it was so awesome. When you consider how primitive 3d gaming was at the time, it's a beautiful game and the control scheme wasn't bad at all.
it just hasn't aged well. If they remade the game, I'd buy that shite instantaneously

the opener as in the escape from echo base or the snow speeder...I'm kind of thinking of both as one

Super Empire Strikes Back makes Dark Souls look like Super Mario 3D Land. The Gamegrumps episodes where they at least tried beating stage one were hilarious.
