What are you putting in it this year?

I will be adding squash and okra and sweet potatoes this year. I want to add a lot more but I'm gonna wait and see.

16 tomato plants; went with more heirlooms than usual this year. I have plenty of flowers but no fruit yet. Poblano, cayenne, jalapeno, bell peppers, zucchini, purple hull peas, and a row of radishes.

Tomatoes are the whole point of a warm weather garden, IMHO. Zucchini and peppers taste the same whether I buy em at the farmer's market or pick in yard. Tomatoes, on the other hand, are always superior from the back yard.

I'll add that homegrown cucumbers and canteloupes are far superior to anything I buy in the store. So much sweeter when fresh from the garden.

I'll have:

Tomatoes
Cucumbers
Canteloupe
Jalepenos
Green bells
Okra

Looks like it will be a down scaled year for me. And probably for the next several. I'll eat many a ball park nacho though. I've got a wad of tomato plants started that will get planted, a few various gourds and squashes and some peppers. Wife flower beds should have 4-6 herbs.

They have been in the ground since fall. It has several small sprouts right now and I'm hoping before it gets hot they will mature.

Get a yard cat. No more squirrel problem.

Herbs, I grow year round. What's growing depends on season. My cilantro is getting ready to go to seed, I just put in some additional thyme. I have greek oregano, italian oregano, chives and mint (both year round), six bay trees (as a hedge around the AC compressor), three big rosemary bushes, bronze fennel, dill, parsley, and green onions. I grow sage, but it's really too wet to grow it for more than a few months.

Herbs are some of the easiest crops. You just have to pay attention to local conditions and not follow gardening advice intended for cooler or drier climates.
