Ip Man 3 is about to start shooting

The first one was a better movie, but I thought the fight scenes in part 2 were more entertaining. I wouldn't say it was bad by any means considering the action is the main reason people watch these types of movies.

The 2nd one was horrible. Completely ripped off the plot of Rocky IV to try to turn it into a Chinese propaganda film.
And while the fight scene with Sammo Hung was awesome, the climactic fight scene where this kung fu grand master is struggling to beat a boxer who's wearing boxing gloves is too ridiculous to be enjoyable. Part 1 had so many awesome fight sequences, including the one where he destroys 10 dudes in what I think might be the GOAT kung fu fight scene.

Am I missing something, I thought there were already atleast 3 IP Man movies? Like I swear I saw one in theaters a year ago and hated it.

They've made a couple of sequels to the Donnie Yen Ip Man movies starring other guys. The one you probably saw in theaters was another separate movie about Ip Man that wasn't meant to be associated with the others called "The Grandmaster" or something like that. And yeah, it was beautifully shot but generally sucked and was boring as hell beyond the visuals.
This one seems like the third attempt at a sequel to the original 2 starring Yen and will be the first one with Yen reprising his role as Ip Man.
