I can't imagine a guy saying this, then going back into the other room and acting like everything was normal.

This part of the article makes me wonder....

quote:

It goes on to say she grabbed a bat from the floor after he touched her inappropriately. She says he told her, "You will not use that on me" and later told her, "It's going to be ok."

Deputies note the girl hit the man several times with the bat before he left her room, saying, "This isn't worth it!"

I've seen how a 12 yr old can swing a bat. They can generate a good deal of power, enough to at least create some pretty significant bruises if they were to hit you. And if she's swinging a bat at him and making contact the natural defensive reaction on his part would be to put his arm up to block the hit, thus creating a bruise or bruises on his arms. I wonder if anyone noticed any bruising on him after the night in question. If they did, that could be corroborating evidence to her story.

The only thing I can think is maybe they were all traveling together the next day or something. I only say that because there have been a number of times where my whole family have all spent the night at a friend's house before with them and their kids because we were getting up very early to leave on vacation together the next morning.

the fact that he initially lied about even being there is pretty telling

I agree it's troubling. But is that enough to prove he's guilty of trying to rape a 12 yr old girl? I think it's possible he did indeed do what this girl alleges. I just don't know if there is enough evidence to convict him based on just what we know. That's why I hope the prosecutor has some sort of other evidence that's not mentioned in the article.

In this case, the victim says her basketball coach's children stayed over at her house one night and that she was not aware her coach had also stayed.

That night, according to the report, she woke up and saw the man in her room. He told her to stand up and allegedly tried to undress her.

It goes on to say she grabbed a bat from the floor after he touched her inappropriately. She says he told her, "You will not use that on me" and later told her, "It's going to be ok."

Deputies note the girl hit the man several times with the bat before he left her room, saying, "This isn't worth it!"

Something smells funny about this story...

I got out the minute I could, and I have no plans to ever return. Hell, I dread just going visit my parents Admittedly, I prefer a more urban place and am eagerly awaiting leaving even BR for something more urban-feel. But even my brother who wants to live on lots of land hates Central.

They do. They are delusional. My parents aren't all caught up in the politics and shite (especially since my brother and I are grown so it doesn't affect them as much), but every so often my mom will get defensive about the place when we crack jokes about it.

They have a pretty house on a lot of land (end plot of a subdivision that has been around for years) right on the outskirts towards Baker/Zachary, so I understand why they get defensive since they're not up in everything. But I definitely don't hide that I think a lot of that place is filled with loonies.

Funny because Central folks are all "Christian".. yet more than 30 girls from my graduating class and the one below me had children before they could legally drink. Most unmarried. And several people I grew up with have had to be rehabilitated, or even died, from drug use.

most of the BS originates from the school system and we dont have kids so it's easy to stay out of that. i observe the crazies from a distance. it wasnt like it is now when I grew up out there, granted alot has changed

Are you seriously talking about banging some mom of 3, whose husband is accused of sexual battery on a 12 year old? Grow up, dickcheese. I'm sure she's frantically searching for your number right now, baw.

I hope the little girl is able to mentally recover from this.

Children and adults lie about this stuff all of the time. Seasoned detectives catch that it is a lie in the interviews almost all of the time. They are trained to catch any monkey business.

I am sure this young lady has been interviewed repeatedly and has passed all with flying colors. The detectives and asst. DA's knew this would be high profile and assuredly were meticulous in preparing a case.

A grown man can remember if he spent the night in someone's home two years ago.

Maybe homeboy was getting a little side action from the girls mom, this could explain why he didn't want to admit being there at first. Girl found out about it, got pissed about something one day and decided to get some revenge?

I've known him for over 14 years, we are friends on facebook. He has 2 girls from a previous marriage when he lived in the Hammond area. I haven't see him in years but seeing Alot of his post on facebook tells me he changed a lot since then. Very arrogant and full of himself. Sucks to think a father of girls would try and do such a thing if he did.
