Just watch Season 7 episode 1 on Net Flix. Wasn't expecting it, but it there for the viewing

Yes. The 7th season was split. Part 2 airs on AMC on the 5th. Absolutely terrible strategy. Mad Men is not Breaking Bad. I think the show has lost a lot of momentum, which is extremely unfortunate.
The actual show is incredible though. I enjoyed Part 1 of Season 7 even more upon second viewing, as has been the case with the whole show. Gets better with each watch.

Amc gets off on doing that.

The strategy of splitting seasons by a year is annoying as hell and total slap to the face of fans IMO. Whatever Exec thought it was a great idea is an idiot. It barely worked for Breaking Bad but it killed a lot of momentum for Mad Men. You want to do six months between halves?... okay, I will accept that but a year?... come on, it's just too much

It didn't barely work for Breaking Bad. It worked brilliantly for Breaking Bad. So many people caught up before those final episodes. The commercial time they sold was absurd.
