I'm 20 years old, have a stable job and I just purchased a house on staring lane. I have saved $2,000 in hopes to have some success in the stock market. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to who would be willing to help me invest such a small amount? Thanks guys

VTTSX until you can get into some admiral shares. Or just keep it in there if you don't want to care about reallocating

Through Vanguard obviously

Open a Scottrade account and invest in mutual funds. Did that exact thing with $2,000 as a sophomore in college and had a nice little savings account when I graduated.

Save another $1k and buy VTSMX in a roth if you can or justa vanguard acct if you want access to the money. If you want to be more hands on I would sink it into APA, MRO, OXY, DVN or KMI. Do some research. Pick your poison.

It's great you have $2,000 available, I assume you have 3-6 months of expenses saved? If not, I would fund the emergency fund before throwing scraps at the market. Especially right after buying a house.

Looking back. Save the money. You're going to need it to be liquid if you just bought a house.
