How much of an effect does this show have in the MCU? I know I can skip it and know what's happening in the avengers 2, but does it have any small details that would wrap up smaller stories in the movies? I tried watching the show, but can't get into it.

Don't know the answer to that question... but I do know it gets better the last third of the first season.

I have to stay awake all night at home. I'll try to fight through it until it gets good

Series provides depth to movies, but is not vital. You do have to watch the movies to get what's going on in the show.

The movies tie into the show, but not vice versa.

Unless they finally decide to reveal the Inhumans in the MCU, I guess none. I would like it if Quake made an appearance. She is quite powerful.

Just stick with it man. I felt the exact same when I first started it and fell asleep through the first series of episodes. However, it really picks up toward the end of season one, to the point of where I went back re-watched the beginning.
