What can you tell me about it? Any posters live there? Always hear it's a great place to live but I don't know if I could get past the weather.

I spent a weekend there and loved it, but I am not sure I could handle the weather either.

Never been a fan of Shreveport/Bossier other than being able to drink under 21 at the Le Bossie'r in the late 80's.

Monroe...old school, good eats, good neighborhoods, historic landmarks, nice dive bars.
Wet Monroe...some old school, veyr few good original eateries, nothing historic, bars I would never go to.
When you cross the Lea Joyner Bridge, it's hard to distinguish the two. Monroe is 70 percent black and WM is 80 percent white, so that is an easy distinction. Nevertheless, Monroe just has so much more historic culture...at least they did ala The Masur Museum and Bayou DeSiard. WM has Antique Ally. They also have lots of white flight neighborhoods. The seawall area on Trenton is somewhat cool, but aside from that WM is a place that you'll never get to se in its entirety.
West Monroe, if you're in your late 20's and married with kids, is now a much better place to raise a family if you can only afford a house in the 200K range. Otherwise, River Oaks Subdivision by the country club, off Forsythe, is the best place and safest area to live, IMO.

Don't forget Monroe had the Flying Tigers museum.
But I guess that gets cancelled out by West Monroe's Hooters.

Lived there 3 years
Highway system is awesome
People suck
Plenty of parks
Boring as shite
Too cold for humans
That's about it
