As of now we have six outstanding athletes committed for the class of 2016. This is a pretty outstanding class. Very talented. This class has the ability to be one of the best offensive teams in the country. So much speed and power!

Michal Cunningham- A highly recruited player out of Ohio. Was recruited by OSU, Kentucky, and Michigan as well. One of the top players in the country. Can play anywhere in the infield. Catcher primarily. She brings a lot of power. Batted over .600 her sophomore year. Hit around 8 homeruns and 10 doubles to go along with it. Will be an immediate impact. Also can play catcher Bats right and was recruited heavily by Michigan.
LINK

Claire Weinberger- Played with Bailey Landry. Highly touted prospect who can play in the OF and Infield. Has lots of weapons at the plate. Hit little under .500 last year.

Nicky Dawson- Versatile player. Very good on defense. Athletic. She brings many things to the plate. She can hit for some power from what I have heard. I don't know to much about her so hopefully Ill learn more soon. But apparently fantastic player. Hit over .500 her sophomore year. Has the ability to play anywhere on the infield.

Amanda Doyle- IMMEDIATE IMPACT PLAYER! From California. She is like another Jaquish but with the potential to be even better. Hit 11 homeruns and 11 doubles her sophomore year. She is a player. Will be immediate impact player as soon as she gets here. Will no doubt be in the line up somewhere. Her bat has a lot of pop. Will def be a favorite. She plays in the infield. She is recovering from ACL tear. Will likely be an All American at LSU. She has the potential to be one the most dominant hitters in LSU history.

Sydney Springfield- Projected to play 1B. She hits with a lot of power. She improves every year. Will hit about ten homeruns her freshman year here. Highly touted prospect. She hits the ball hard. Bats right. She can hit for a very high average. She will hit in the middle of the lineup. TOP 100 PLAYER!! Has offers from Cali, OU, Baylor, Texas, and Georgia

Maribeth Gorsuch- Talented pitcher. A lot of velocity on her pitches. Good movement. Has developed a very good change up. Has offers from Stanford, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and California.

This could easily be Torinas best class based off projections. There is so much power top to bottom. This class will have an immediate impact. This class will keep this team always within the top ten. I think this class is ranked number 4 currently but the rankings will update soon but without a doubt an AMAZING haul.
Ill update about each player and whats going on with them from time to time.

It's good to see they'll have power as we need more runs. We've only won around 40% of our games with the mercy rule.

The winning has been impressive but the scoring is unreal!!!

For 2016, not that I know of, I thin one or two more prospects for 15. We have six for the class of 2016 and that's a lot. They are all potential starters as well. Its a special class. I think Torina will leave it as is.

Nicky is a good player. Can slap for power. Will probably play outfield, but does have excellent field presence and does play and throw low, which is crucial for infield in college ball. Just watched Alabamas 3rd baseman allow a runner to reach on a bunt by standing tall before she threw. Currently plays shortstop for Parkview. One of the fastest girls I've ever seen.

My favorite part about this class aside for how powerful they are, is how versatile they are. Everyone can play many positions. This will def be one of the greatest classes brought into LSU

Is there any way you can add where they are from? Are any from California? Are all of them from Louisiana?

Thanks!!!

357, you need to check into the 2019 girl out of New Orleans that committed last week. Phenom pitcher who is in 8th grade throwing 67mph.

Also, I think we pick up some more pitchers than what we currently have committed in the 2017 and 2018 classes. The girls committed are good but i dont think near as elite as what we have now. Look out for Josie Robertson in Mississippi, she will blow up this summer.

I wont be doing the 2017 and 2018 classes for a bit, but I can tell you that we have nothing but elite prospects in those classes currently. They will get much better over the next few years. Nothing to worry about there.

Meh, the 2018 kid is good but nothing elite by any means.

what about this from the fall?

quote:

BATON ROUGE, La. – Head coach Beth Torina and the LSU softball team have announced the signing of six standout athletes who will continue their careers as Tigers next fall, adding Shemiah Sanchez, Taylor Satchell, Amber Serrett, Sydney Smith, Elyse Thornhill and Akiya Thymes to the Purple and Gold beginning in 2016, as all six will enter as freshmen.

quote:

At St. Joseph's Academy, Thornhill is a repeat all-metro and all-district selection for the Red Stickers in the 2014 and 2013 seasons, while also winning team awards for being the best offensive player and most valuable player in 2013 and newcomer of the year at SJA in 2012.

from last November

None of these are listed in your report.

That must have been the 2015 signing class. They are not on the roster but the article says "signed". I don't think you could have signed 2016 players in November of 2014.

That's the 2015 class. They'll enter as freshman in 2015, but the season doesn't start until 2016.
