Update on the Ghost vs. DJ.....friend of mine just showed up so I gave him a blind tasting. Of course he picked out DJ right away....but he gave the nod to Ghost.

I tend to like fresh Double Jack better. It's a toss-up for me between Green Flash West Coast and GOAT, but those make up my personal Top 3 DIPAs.

5BD: Another New Mexico GOAT, LaCumbre Elevated

In fact, if I were take the three states' GOATS, my personal opinion:

LA GOAT = NM GOAT > TX GOAT

However...we'll see what Karbach does with Hop Delusion this go round.

We need to start drilling wells where I can get some Bell's Two Hearted and Hop Slam. As much as I get my favorite IPA here in New Mexico, I think I'm getting burned out a bit. Need a change of IPA scenery.

Bell's is a GOAT sesh IPA. Malt Slam I can do without. Decent beer, but super overhyped.

Hop Slam jusy wasn't for me. The sweetness from the honey did not appeal to my taste.

Ahh...so Hop Slam isn't so much hop?

I'd still like to try. I haven't had any Bell's.

ft nailed it. It's just too sweet and that enhances that malty quality. There's hops there, I just don't find it very balanced. And the fact that people go ape shite over its release makes it kind of an annoying beer.

Bell's THA is superb - also really like the Expedition and Kalamazoo Stouts. Get your hands on some.

Gotta through Maharaj, Enjoy By, Dreadnaught and Racer X in there. Plus all that obscure stuff I can never get.

Fbd late start

Seems there was a tasty stout noticeably absent from that list of Oskar Blues cans making their way here next month...

I was playing coy. I know the name. I'm concerned about why it won't be part of the south LA lineup next month.

I suspect it is because Ten Fidy is a seasonal beer and the season is over.
