The victory storm is drinking very nice. Perfect change up for the juicy IPA's

I've been told it's too hoppy for a stout. I've told those people they have garbage taste. Certainly not a normal stout, but outstanding.

Maybe. It keeps it from being boring, that's for sure.

Glad to help. But you really ought to go to Maggies bottle n tail by Cosmos and get some Westbrook IPA and One Claw. It's infinitely better.

FBD Monday Night Fights.....Ghost vs. Double Jack. In the red corner Ghost in the Machine dated 3.2.15.....in the black corner, Double Jack dated 1.30.15...the younger challenger has the advantage over the old geezer from Paso Robles.

I nibbled a pretzel and drank water between tastes. I also too 2 consecutive tastes of each beer as I find the second taste is more like what you get when drinking a whole glass of a beer.

Appearance: Double Jack is a crystal clear copper color, Ghost is a hazy golden color. I poured Ghost first and as you can see from the pic, Double Jack still has a bigger, frothier head.

Aroma: Ghost wins.

Mouthfeel: Ghost is good but Double Jack has a nice creamy feel.

Taste: Ghost has a good hop punch at first swallow. It mellows as it finishes. Double Jack does not hit you with the hops at the start...may be its age showing....but after I swallowed, another wave of hops came to the fore on my tongue. I'm gonna call this a draw.

Overall: As when I did thid head to head last year, Ghost shows well and belongs in the upper echelon of DIPAs. Last time I gave Double Jack the nod by a beard hair. This time....I think Ghost.

My maven wife, who I gave a blind tasting....but she picked each one out easily....she still prefers Double Jack for its mouthfeel and smoothness.

FBD is a Boulevard Hibiscus Gose.

Wasn't going to have any tonight, but this low ABV will be okay.

NBD is a Grace and Grit. First time trying these Great Raft beers. Very impressed. Really nice DIPA.

My recollection says that the DIPA from South LA is better... But a fair showing from the Port City.

Completely agree with GOAT stout status. Loup Garou is solid.
