..was one too many times. Saw this musical last night at the Saenger, and it was a trainwreck. The movie has a 97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and the Broadway musical had major critical/awards acclaim. Had the best seats I've had yet, which were 2nd row in the pit, so I was just a few feet from the stage - but the wife was begging to leave at intermission. Despite jaw-dropping guitar/vocal performances from the lead, his character was a whining, sniveling idiot - not a likeable character anywhere to be found in the cast. The movie could not possibly have been this bad - anyone seen it?

I enjoyed the movie. But the movie was very centered around the music. So much so that the storyline takes a backseat to the music. I remembered being confused over the relationship between the lead guy & girl.
