Hearing some of the Scousers excuses were funny. First they were crying about Slippy G being given a straight red, then they said that Skrtel didn't deserve a red because Jones should have gotten a straight red for his miss timed second tackle.

Skrtels red is just as bad as Gerrards. I understand being a fan, but if it was Rooney or anyone on Utd. I would have been pissed off at them, and not making excuses for thuggery that Liverpool showed for 90% of the second half.

What the frick are you talking about? I've been on a literal 24 hour tirade about Gerrard. The entire LFC thread approves of both the red and whatever happens to Martin.

Quit trying to start shite.

He's just being a douche. Par for the course on this board. One of the reasons I seldom post anymore.

I was talking about Liverpool fans during the match. I understand fans have calmed down since then, but during the game some fans were going crazy.

Perhaps you should post your opinion in regard to that in the match thread then. Because Liverpool fans here are attempting to be gracious and apologetic.

My apologies then. I understand you are and I appreciate that, and hope I emulate you when I'm in your position, but I never said all the fans were that way.

I have to say that while watching the live action I didn't see what happened and was shocked when Gerrard was shown red. It wasn't until I had the benefit of replay that I saw what actually happened.

Comments sections are the worst. I'm sure they followed up their excuses with demands we buy Messi and Pirlo.

No worries. Sorry if I jumped to the conclusion that you were making a blanket comment when you weren't.

It was. I hope they drop a huge fine on him as well. We have absolutely everything on the line and our players let their heads go. Hopefully if the FA drop a bomb on them they'll realize the importance of keeping their cool in these situations.

Meh - could be intentional, but his foot has to go somewhere and it did not kick further out or go in an unnatural direction in order to get ddg. Probably should get suspended, but the intent is difficult to judge on this one imo. He had a defender brushing the side of him and a keeper sliding towards him. I think he's more guilty of not doing enough to avoid it rather than purposely stomping. Which should likely get a ban anyway.

Very unlike the Stevie g stomp where he had to kick out in order to stomp.

I agree with all that...

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel has denied a charge of violent conduct following Sunday's game with Manchester United at Anfield.

The charge relates to an incident with David De Gea towards the end of the game where Skrtel appeared to stand on the United keeper’s leg.

If found guilty, the Liverpool defender could face a three-game ban - the same punishment given to Chelsea striker Diego Costa, who was retrospectively found guilty of stamping on Liverpool's Emre Can during a Capital One Cup clash against Liverpool in January.

Costa got out of this stamp earlier this year. I guess there is hope for Skrtel! Although he should serve a ban.
