Weed taste like orange juice?

FWIW, I love IPAs that have a good dank nose to them. Normally, though, the balance with malt seems to prevent it from tasting like weed, but rather, have a nice, delicious hit on the taste buds.

Ghost is an excellent DIPA, in my unprofessional opinion.

y'all must drink some terrible orange juice if you think a DIPA taste like orange juice.

Brew At The Zoo was longer than Zapp's and we were completely empty before it was over. Even with 30ish beers.

Redstick and LA Homebrew were both completely empty before the event ended too.

In addition to being a longer event, it didn't help that brew at the zoo used 12oz glasses for sampling.

I would drink more OJ if I could find one that tasted like GJ (GOAT Juice).

I drank too much beforehand and needed to slow myself down. I didn't have much at all inside the festival.

I was not as disciplined.

I didn't. I ended up pouring beer for New Belgium for that time since they had room under the tent.

And I wasn't too wet until s14 dumped a bunch of water from the Brasseurs tent on me.

I took refuge next to the cabin behind the Brasseurs tent and it was working well until the wind shifted. Then I got soaked.

I started to get wet and then said screw it and just got soaked. Short beer lines though!

Maybe next year they can extend hours.

I'm of the opinion 11:30 am to 2:30 pm would be spot on--before the hottest part of the day and the afternoon showers. Take a power nap afterwards then hit the town @ night.

Beer-wise, I was fond of the Nutella Porter and the Hopasaurus Sex. King Cake from Tin Roof wasn't too shabby either.

Does this festival actually have a good craft beer selection these days? I went in '09 and it was terrible. Not really any craft beers and the "international" selection was generic stuff like Spaten, Corona, Dos Equis, Etc. The homebrew tent was the only place to go and try something interesting.

The homebrewers are the stars of the event.

Only "regular" beer I had was Bourbon County.

Yes. Selection is better than it has ever been.

Pretty solid, especially the local breweries.

I'll have to tell Keith the next time I see him how well his beers went over. I didn't get a chance to try too many of the beers, was pretty busy serving with Redstick. I really liked one of our members "Truck Stop Stout" though. Commercially Tin Roof's king cake beer was a lot better than I feared going into it. I enjoyed it even as a sweeter beer. Can't wait till next year.
