They're not really evaluating players yet, so all of this nonsense is confection for fan consumption.
College teams are installing basic systems right now. Even in summer they will be working on fundamentals and installing formations and plays.
It's only after the playbook has been mostly implemented, and knowledge of the playbook becomes important, that the true players will assert themselves. Until then, all you're seeing is shear athleticism. And as Brandon Harris could tell you, that isn't enough to start.

Chark will start. Book it.
Ahead of the two guys who beat him out last year?
Yeah, Ryno, I'm booking it; I'm booking it to the bookie to take the other side of your action.

Anyone who believes a word that comes out of Miles' mouth hasn't been paying attention these last 10 years.

my prediction, and i am not being negative its just the history, is that Chark is one of the one Miles will speak of pre-season and hardly ever see the playing field during the season. Miles does this every year. Not taking anything away from Chark.
There are players he speaks of that do see the field. pocic, adams, dupre and the two rbs come to mind.
He has coached a few hundred players at LSU, some see the field early, some don't.

quote:Well, I mean, um...........having great WRs is definitely a plus and we do seem to be stocked there. But, um, having a great WR is sort of like possessing the best arrows available. If your bow is shitty, they're not gonna matter much.
Glad you brought this up. Everybody getting caught up in the QB competition.
The reality is, spring is pretty much irrelevant for LSU fans paying attention. Until we play on Sept 15th of this year and see otherwise, we can assume that our WRs will look spectacular while being missed. And yeah, I skipped the opener. McNeese won't tell us shite.

Pops was at the scrimmage
Chark ran slants, outs, ins and got deep. Did it all. Secondary couldn't slow him down.
OLine couldn't block DLine entire time.
McMillan looked better than both Harris and Jennings.
That's from him. Blast away.

You guys get too excited over controlled scrimmages. Anything that Miles says or releases to the press should be taken with a grain of salt.

Holy hell...
All I did was post that Chark had another big day in the scrimmage and caught a few TDs. Seems like he's taking the next step in his career and has stood out this spring. That's it. Never said he was gonna start or anything like that.
I'm just not gonna give anymore updates this spring because half the people come in here and say shite like "so what? It's spring and Miles says shite that never happens every year. Yall get too excited over shite like this." When I literally was just saying Chark has had a good spring and has stood out. That's it. Tired of it.

There's no reason at all not to try him as a kickoff returner
