Just ate there for the first time. Today was their first day for brunch. Everything was very good. I had the camp breakfast. It is boudin on biscuits drizzled with steens southern blend syrup. Very good! The shrimp and grits were incredible. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Also get the "waking up in Mexico" mimosa. Tequila, orange juice, and champagne. Very legit.

Do you know where they get their boudin from?

I've heard good things from family in the area. I'm going to a wedding there in a couple weeks, looking forward to it.

After waiting for food for over an hour and a half, we left. The kitchen couldn't handle the business, and the service was horrible. By the way, it wasn't even busy. There were empty tables all over the place, and it still took forever. The owner came by, once I told the server we were leaving, but he wasn't very apologetic. It was almost insulting, actually. I've always pulled for this place to succeed, but not sure they will. I've heard the same from others.

That's suprising about your bad experience. Everything was spot on today including food, service and price. I guess every restaurant will have bad days occasionally.

We went about a month after they opened ... It seemed like a rather small menu and on the pricey side when compared to Shuck's and Dupuy's. I had a grilled shrimp salad and it was good but most of the people that I was with ordered tuna and did NOT finish it ... someone had gumbo and it was good from what they said.

It's not like the old Black's for sure ... dear Lord the crab cakes with roasted red pepper sauce.. THAT was good.

Maybe though we'll give brunch a try...

3 times I think...is the new owner even related to the original owners whose name and food MADE the place what it was?
