This Board Would Have Fired a Sweet 16 Team Coach at Halftime of 1st Round Game

NC State got outscored 6-21 in 8:21 of the 1st half against LSU. That is awful coaching!!!

It's not how you start a game, it's how you finish

We would have fired Nick Saban after UAB.

This board would not have hired him to fire him.

Alter much?

Is it so hard to understand people being upset after such an inexcusable and embarrassing way to lose a game?

In case you didn't notice, most the people on this board suck

Is there a good way to lose a game?

NC State fans are no different I promise. I visited one of their boards at halftime to see how they were taking it. It wasn't being taken too well.

And yet, NC State wasn't THAT much better in the final 10:00 of the second half of the LSU game either (35% from field). It took and epic choke job by LSU just for them to win with a last second shot. Let's not act like Mark Gottfried did anything great in the 2nd half of that game, unless having LSU miss multiple lay ups and 6 straight FTs was part of his master plan

Did I say "bad way"? No.
I said unacceptable and embarrassing. Some losses are more understandable and less embarrassing.
Surely you know the difference.

There's a reason he's still not coaching at Alabama though. And let's not forget we let a coach that got us to a Final Four go. But carry on.

I thought it was funny after the game with the media asking them what they did differently in the second half to come back...they were actually giving answers....I was laughing. They did nothing but sit back and watch some of the LSU players pull off a massive choke job.

No Lsu fans wouldn't have. I don't think many people mind losing when it's clear that the other team is better.
Looking at it objectively, LSU came out with alot of energy and LSU's personnel was just better in the paint.... and it was obvious.
There isn't much NC State's coach could have done to change that. They needed to be hitting their shots from outside to keep pace with the high field goal percentage shots LSU was taking, and they just weren't.
You don't fire a coach for having a bad matchup or for his team having a bad game. You fire a coach because he can't coach.
The difference between NC State's program and LSU's program is how they lose and who they lose to.
For NC State, 9 of their 13 losses were to teams in the dance. Only 4 of them were to teams outside of the tournament. They also play in a conference with 5 top 15 teams.... and they played most of them twice. So, it's not like they consistently underperform. They have bad games just like every other team, but on good days, they have wins over Duke, @ Louisville, and @ UNC. Beating multiple teams that are more talented is the mark of good coaching.
Whereas, only 1 of LSU's regular season losses were to teams in the tournament. The other 9 are to teams sitting at home watching. And only 1 of its wins is against a top 15 team.
LSU usually gets beat by less talented teams, and that is the mark of bad coaching.
For better or worse, LSU fans are just going to have to recognize that JJ recruits better talent and hopes that he can win on talent alone. LSU will live and die by their recruits.

You really think if LSU and Nc STates teams were swapped that the Lsu fans wouldn't be melting at halftime ?
hell, Texas a&m is a terrible matchup for Lsu and some of the worst melts this season were after the losses to them. Lsu fans will melt to any loss. I don't think you've been on this board after losses- shite gets BAD

That''s everyone's fan base in America idiot. Btw they came back and won the game and beat the #1 seed so I think their coach is pretty solid. We have a horrible coaching staff.

That one game when we were way ahead and for no reason he started subbing.
Hope he learns from his mistakes because we have some be time talent coming next year...
