Thanks for all of the updates.

Does anyone not think we take a LB at either 31 or 44? Seems to be some good options around that time.

Stephone Anthony at either 31 or 44, depending on who goes before that.

Would be 100% shocked if we don't find a LB'er with the 2nd and/or the 3rd pick.
But its been that kind of year so far

No way they pass on him barring someone else higher on board still available. :GENIUS:

Everyone has different boards and it's just easy to say "baring someone else higher on the board is available". Sean may want to go offense with the 31 pick? Doesn't mean that person is higher on our board than Kendricks. Wide Reciever may be locked in already at #31.

I got Anthony sitting at #44 for the Saints.

I still think we grab Beckham at #31

Yep and I'd love to have him.

Paul Dawson is headed to a meeting with the Saints. Assistant Joe Vitt is at TCU.

I've been watching some of his games on draftbreakdown.com today. The kid is definitely impressive.

Based on this, probably not.

After the cleansing we just went through, I can't see any way we take a chance on a guy who not only is disliked withing his locker room but also shows poor commitment. He has disaster stamped all over his chart. Especially with all the other talented MLB in the draft at this area, this dude is most likely not going to be a Saint. They are meeting with him just to do their diligence and make sure

That guy is the only one bashing him. Everyone else is just quoting him.

that's some pretty strong bashing for everyone else to simply quote without confirming. although given the complete lack of integrity of journalism today, I wouldn't be surprised. Still, I have a difficult time believing that statements this strong have not been vetted.

Oh and guess what? The guy who wrote that report that you linked and quoted, still has Dawson rated his number one LB.

His character concerns are overblown.

So you are basing your stance on his statement of himself? I am not discounting the potential for misreporting on him, but I will not use his autobiography that was strictly edited by a PR professional to sway me to his side. If that's the case, then I would believe every criminal who swears by their innocence.

ok, so he thinks Dawson is the most talented ILB in the draft. his rating means nothing to the Saints. what does mean something to them is a guy who allegedly has locker room issues and does not work hard. we are gambling on *allegedly* a Jonathan Sullivan/Albert Connell hybred. IF this is true (and nothing as shown me it isn't), then he represents the antithesis of what this organization is stands for.

Some have said that's overblown though

A TCU fan(maybe yurin?) could weigh in further

I'm one who usually would give the benefit of the doubt to the person of interest in this situation. Not the person who probably heard some things. You think this reporter is in TCU's locker room everyday? No he's a national NFL.com reporter - he doesn't have the time nor resources for that. If Dawson straight up lied in that USA Today piece, why has nobody come out to correct him?

His ball skills and instincts on the field certainly didn't appear to show him being under-prepared.

ball skills and instincts are intangible gifts. preperation is knowledge, understanding of the opponent's offense and technique of one's craft. So until I hear something disputing this other than himself, I am standing on the side of no thanks with this one.

I mean, would this really be that hard to believe that everyone is just copying and pasting without confirming? There's 256 kids being drafted, I doubt these reporters all have the time and connections to personally confirm reports such as these.

no, but it wouldn't be easy neither.
