What sucks is that this review is from March 1st, when the boil menu wasn't running. If their boil menu is running now, this reviewer just screwed Boil & Roux over.

The print version complained about the shrimp, "our collective hearts dropped to find that they weren't boiled live and obviously weren't boiled fresh, either." I didn't take anything seriously after that point, which came in the third paragraph.

They've been open for a couple of months in a town that doesn't get that many new restaurants opening. The reviewer said they were disappointed they weren't serving boiled crawfish yet. Why is that bad? It's more of a heads up that "hey if you're going there for crawfish, might wanna confirm first." How are they in March, and not serving boiled crawfish yet?
I had a cup of gumbo up there, it wasn't nearly good enough to make up for the clusterfrick that is how that place is run and horrid service.

I went there tuesday at lunch. not crowded at all. I had to sit myself then go find the waiter after 10 minutes of not having one.
The waiter I waved down took my drink order and then brought me my menu. after a good while, he came back and got my order. my food was brought to me a little longer than i expected it would, but nothing to worry me. The thing is, he forgot to bring me silverware with the meal. I asked for some and he said hed be right back. a little while later he walked back out and waited on another table. after my food sitting there for 10 minutes, I decided to get up go to the bar to get my own. The bartender looked at me like I was crazy when I asked if I could have some silverware. The waiter didnt come back out to check on me until after I had finished eating and brought me the check.
i wont go back.

Just to clarify, I have zero doubts that this restaurant will close soon, probably a couple months after crawfish season. I'm just commenting on the useless review.

I was just thinking that newspaper reviews are typically lenient to the respective restaurant.

Such a shame that Boil & Roux won't last long due to horrible ownership, management and average food. I guess when it shuts down we'll get yet another Greek & Lebanese or Indian place opening in that spot.
