Greetings to all from your 2013 Big Bass Champion, yours truly. I was ousted last year but I forgot who caught her.I think it was someone from the Monroe area.

The rules are simple.

The first poster to post a 7 lbs. or better bass wins the title.

No high fence ponds. Must be caught on public water starting today going forward. No old pics.

Must post pic with at least 1 of the following criteria being met...

A) 2 forms of government issued ID
B) A piece of paper with your TD handle/screen name
C) Your foot visibly included in the picture

All pictures are subject to harsh scrutiny, and without a scale a determination by the committee of one (me) to determine if the fish actually crosses the 7 lbs threshold may be applicable. Don't post a pic of a 3 pounder held way out towards the camera basically.

Good luck, good fishing and let the games begin.

I haven't caught one over 7 in several years, but it may happen tomorrow. Good fishing all!

Wait a second Clyde. What about letting that stretch out for a while to the end of July on biggest Summer bass or something, then have a Fall biggest bass? ?

This is a one and done tournament. It's possible if no one produces one this spring it may roll into the summer.

ETA: All you have to do to win is be the first with anything over 7 lbs. If someone catches a 10 the next day they are shite out of luck.

Does Flag Lake count as public? and what about other BAFB lakes?

Never heard of it. Does it have a free public boat launch?

Not open to the public if I'm not mistaken. I think you are required to have a military ID or be with someone with a military ID.

Public lakes means...

Toledo, Caddo, Caney, Indian Creek, Lake Darrbonne, Red River, Sam Rayburn, Lake Fork, Guntersville, Reel Foot, Lake Michigan, etc.

Flag lake is on BAFB. Damn. Its more or less public. Anyone can fish it as long as they're with someone with access, hah!

It's really my only chance to catch a 7# fish so I was hoping.

What do you mean? Black Bayou in Hosston is a good lake as well as many of the oxbows on the river. Caddo and Toledo are not far at all from us.

The last couple of years it was won within a week or two of starting the fishing season.

Caddo is a possibility, but I'm limited to kayaking so fishing Toledo can be a bit difficult. Never fished Hosston admittedly.

It's not a problem with the water near me, its a problem with my mode of fishing transportation.

Plenty of big fish on Chews Flat, right across from Shady Acres at Caddo. A kayak would do great inside those islands right now.

I think Toledo lines up well for yaks. You can cove hop up and down 191 with a car and a yak.

Just don't try to paddle to Texas...

Palo what do you think about kayaks around Tuckers? Seems optimal to me..

I am wanting to give that a shot.

Also on the east side of the bridge in Mooringsport looks like a nice spot for kayaks.
