The rants role in LSU sports

What is the rants role in LSU sports? and how important are we?
I would tend to think that it doesn't matter at all and that it's just a message board that very few players read and absolutely no coaches read. However, judging by some posts I've seen we should always be positive and never blame anything on a player or coach in order to support the program. Do y'all think players read this and does it affect there mentality?
Still new here and just wondering what the role of the rant really is?
ETA: does having a high post count make you a super fan or a better fan than others?

I single-handedly turned around Bregman's season

TD serves as the epicenter of every meltdown.

The popularity of TigerDroppings is large. I would say 90% of athletes read it.
If you were 18-22, wouldn't you want to read what people thought of you. Especially when it is supposed to be a board for your home school.

i know for a fact that at least the football players back in 2011 read TD often.

what's your estimate on the athletes that read this? i don't think many of them do... they shouldn't care what a bunch of guys in their underwear who never played think

A perfect fan would have about 2500 posts over 5-6 years.
Anything more would indicate a psychotic who doesn't have a life.
Anything less means you don't care enough.

Contrary to what some believe....absolutely none...negative or positive... But some of you keep believing ;)

Destructive at best.

It has no effect on the teams. It's just a place to celebrate/commiserate with other fans.
There are those that think nothing remotely negative or critical should ever be uttered, otherwise they'll resort to name-calling and call us the worst fanbase of all time, and then for some reason they'll choose to continue being a part of it.

It's an internet message board, I doubt it has that big of a role in anything. Even as popular as it is, good chance it's not as big of a part of their lives as it is yours.

If the rant had a big role in LSU sports Les, Jones, and Mainieri would have all been fired at some point already as well as Alleva. We'd also have no parking or traffic issues and no exposed PVC pipe.
