co-worker drives an old grand am

he was on highway when plumbing style truck lost some of its cargo in front of him. he ran over some of it, and his car received some body and windshield damage

no pics taken, no cops called, insurance information exchanged

believed this happened this tuesday

he called their insurance agent, and plumbing company called and requested that they go outside of insurance. I believe he has this request on voice mail.

how SOL is he for not calling cops, not taking pics, and not seeking medical attention?

what recourse does he have at this point?

thanks

Why would he seek medical attention if he wasn't hurt?

Sounds like plumbing co would rather pay out of pocket rather than have a higher premium.

Did he not make a claim on their insurance?

Likely has i high deductable, cheaper for the company to pay out of pocket for the repairs and not claim on insurance.

As long as you get you car fixed, does it matter if you go through insurance or get a check?

He's not screwed at all.
If plumbing co messes around, he can go through their insurance.
It's his choice.

he drives a 97 grand am

he honestly does not want to invest any money in the vehicle

he wants to get an idea on the better route to take and how much money he can extort out of plumbing company

Probably the amount of what the repairs would cost.

I don't see any problem yet. Get a quote to fix car and ask plumbing company to pay it and move on.

The failure to get pix or call cops is not a big deal. But I would take some pix now.
