It's a movie

Revolutionized marketing strategies for huge budget movies, sure.

Changed cinema, no.

That's a fairly shallow way to look at it.

Put simply, having a bunch of different films with different protagonists all lead up into one giant film with a singular continuity has never been done before on that scale.

Iron Man 3 was also the first film in Phase Two of Marvel's Cinematic Universe. Man of Steel was the first movie EVER in the DCU.

A better comparison would be Iron Man (2008) vs. Man of Steel (2013). Iron Man made $585 million worldwide that year. Man of Steel made $668 million worldwide in 2013.

not really. Without 5 years of Marvel, MoS would not have had the numbers they did.

I liked MoS. It still wasn't as good as any marvel movie, but I'd like them to be In the future, but I don't have faith in that yet.

Wait, what? You're saying every marvel movie is better than man of steel? So spider man 3 is better than MoS?

Spider Man 3 was at least funny, and had this scene, which was truly great: LINK

I am sure he meant Marvel Studio film.

And Man of Steel and Spider-Man 3 are equally bad.

I have always held you in higher esteem than Tiger Ryno (not that that's saying much), but you're stooping to his level with this shite.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to call bullshite on this one. Mainly because one of the co-writers and producers was the same guy that directed The Dark Knight - a film that made over $500 million in the U.S. and came out the same year as Iron Man. It also had some well-known actors playing key roles.

It isn't that farfetched.

Who's trying to do fully realized universe films now...
DC
Disney/Star Wars
Sony with Spidey, before the "merge"
Potter with New Beast Movies
X-Men are headed in that direction - Deadpool
Universal Shared Monster Universe

So if you are arguing that Marvel has established the template that will destroy originality in cinema forever then I agree with you when you say they have changed cinema forever.
