Because I will post this whenever it is reasonably on topic:

First off, I don’t talk to them. OK?

That’s, like, the first thing. Let’s start there.

It’s not like I’m all, Hey, Peter Pufferfish, what’s up? and he’s all, Yo, nothing much, brah.

It doesn’t work like that, all right? I mean, most of them don’t even have brains, for one thing. They have maybe a bump at one end of their spinal cord, a pimply little swelling of ganglia, if they’re lucky.

Language is not a looming issue, is what I’m saying.

No, how it works is: I command them. Period, the end. Command, as in bend them to, you know, my will and whatnot. frickin’ A.

Even the ones with actual for-real brains, the cetaceans. If I want, you know, a pod of Burmeister’s porpoise to ram the hell out of Black Manta’s Manta Sub, that shite gets done. If I totally want, like, a southern minke whale to go hump a giant squid (its most hated enemy, by the way), I just go doodoodoodoodoodoo and it’s like Show World down there. Not that I would, because, you know, gross, but I’m just saying: I don’t ask. I’m not going to be all, If you wouldn’t mind terribly much, please, Mr. Southern Minke Whale, go get your nasty freak on with that giant squid.

Just, you know, FYI.

Meh, until DC can consistently move the needle at the theaters, I think Marvel views their "rivalry"claims like...

...meanwhile, Marvel continues to do what Marvel does and DC tries desperately to do what Marvel does.

I like both. If I want colorful, mindless fun I go with Marvel. If I want dark, mindless fun I go with DC.

They're both comic book movie franchises. There really is nothing more to them. Especially in their current incarnations.

I do too. Love both comic book universes. I just really wish DC would step their theatrical game up. I wan't to see great versions of more DC Characters besides Batman. Marvel is currently giving me what I want, and DC isn't when it comes to movies.

Man of Steel made close to $700 million worldwide two years ago. Meanwhile, Marvel has had 10 different films come out since 2008, plus three TV shows - two already with at least a season under their belts and another about to premiere on Netflix.

With only one movie released in the DCU, how about we wait until 2020 to judge whether or not DC moves the needle?

And arguably Marvel's worst movie in the franchise made $1.2 billion the same year.

Iron Man 3 was also the first film in Phase Two of Marvel's Cinematic Universe. Man of Steel was the first movie EVER in the DCU.

A better comparison would be Iron Man (2008) vs. Man of Steel (2013). Iron Man made $585 million worldwide that year. Man of Steel made $668 million worldwide in 2013.

it was a bad idea for Superman to kill Zod

It's like nobody has ever seen Superman II, you know, where he kills a completely de-powered Zod.

This. At least Zod was about to kill humans when Superman killed him in Man of Steel. Zod was completely powerless and in the Fortress of Solitude when Superman killed him in Superman II. To add insult to injury, he crushed every bone in Zod's hand before he killed him, too.

It's still funny because Superman was exponentially more popular than Iron Man before RDJ.

Can't say that, not when in the other thread people argued Superman was near immune to that movie and still the most important icon in Comic-don.

It isn't that farfetched.

Who's trying to do fully realized universe films now...
DC
Disney/Star Wars
Sony with Spidey, before the "merge"
Potter with New Beast Movies
X-Men are headed in that direction - Deadpool
Universal Shared Monster Universe

Although I probably wouldn't say "changed," just influenced. I don't see sci-fi/fantasy films that can house a universe of content being made any different for a little while now.

But he didn't give a frick when he was showing off and that showing off cost the lives of tens of thousands. Then he thrusts him into orbit, which Superman would have to make a conscious effort to put him back in Metropolis. It is shite and Superman is a scumbag in this movie. He taunts the army when they try to rightfully track him.

Revolutionized marketing strategies for huge budget movies, sure.

Changed cinema, no.
