Couple of Buddies and I happen to all be in Houston on Business. What are some cool spots for dinner?

Preferences:

Not a Chain
Chef inspired Food
Good Beer
Casual Enough to roll in wearing jeans and a golf shirt

Maybe Gastro Pub type place?

I'm staying in West Chase, They're staying on WestPark near the loop. Don't want to venture too far... So Westheimer/Galleria/Kirby?

TIA

Rio Ranch in the hilton on westhiemer. Get the wings, ribeye, and the chocolate cake with the melty goo inside. If anything make sure you get the WINGS

Look at the places over in City Centre (Ruggles Green, Capital Grill, Yard House).

If you want to go Galleria-area, Dish Society is really good.

Sal y Pimienta is out there in City Center.

I don't know what chef inspired means...sounds chain-y.

Hop on the Westpark Tollway is you have an EZTag and head into town. If you want a bar that serves beer and good food just go to the Hay Merchant. If you want more of a restaurant Id do Liberty Kitchen.

Search my posts, I've posted lists ad nauseam about Houston's best.

Thanks! What would be the best bet for Tex-Mex on that side of town?

There is a Pappacito's right there off I-10 and the Beltway, or there is an El Tiempo on Gessner.

It's byob and not really a hang out with your buddies spot, but Pizaro's Pizza in the energy corridor is awesome.

That's not at all the "west" side of Houston...

Let's see... It's West of Downtown, near the 610 west loop. I'm in West Chase, on WestPark. How exactly would you describe the Geography of this area in relation to Houston?

Radio Milano, Pax Americana, Pass and Providions, Backstreet Cafe, Triniti, anything under the Treadsack group, Haymerchant, Underbelly...mostly stuff near montrose and the heights. Galleria doesn't have too many chef inspired places. Bramble is supposedly coming soon but not yet

Don't be so sensitive. It's just funny. I don't think there is a single person in Houston that would refer to any part of the loop as the west side of town.

Inside the loop is just inside the loop. If you are near the Galleria that would just be the Galleria area. West side of town? Probably outside of the beltway. Just thought the reference was a little funny. Wasn't trying to break you down by insulting you or anything.
