I'm thinking about planning a trip to Morocco or South Africa for next summer. I've done missions in Rwanda and Ethiopia, but never gone to the mother land for a vacation...

I know Africa is diverse and all... But what's your favorite part? Where would you recommend to visit for a first time traveler to Africa? Thanks brehs

I've been all over the west coast... save your money and visit your local landfill for the same experience.

Never been but Morocco is a reasonable choice, but its obviously way different than the south.

Choosing a country depends on time of year and type of Safari in a lot of ways.

Botswana (expensive), South Africa (Developed), Tanzania (Serengeti and Beaches, Kilimanjo). You can even do Zanzibar from Tanzania. However, its a real PITA to get to Victoria Falls from Tanzania as opposed to from South Africa.

Namibia is an option as well.

Good luck getting some serious answers in this thread. I've always wanted to go to Botwsana or Tanzania. Those seem to be good places to see wildlife.

For me, it would strictly be for a safari; get in and get out.

If you count hunting as vacation, I know a guy that has been several times. He said certain parts of it are just amazing. Land that is basically untouched by man. Huge variety of animals. He's a big outdoorsman though, so probably not the vacation you're looking for.

I hear Somalia has a lot of tourist attractions. Lots of locals willing to take you out to sea for some really cool excursions.

Lol. I was in Rwanda for 8 weeks and I lost 25 pounds and watched 3 kids die.

When I worked overseas (Libya) I was able to take a week long trip to Cape Town. Highly recommended. It's just a long arse trip to get there.
