I've skydived a few times and absolutely love it.

I've never done hang gliding. For some reason it seems FAR scarier than skydiving. At least when you skydive you have a backup parachute.

Has anyone been hang gliding and would you recommend it? Does it compare to the thrill of skydiving?

I would love to clock enough hours of skydiving experience to one day attempt a wingsuit dive.

I skydived once with a wingsuiter. The professional skydivers referred to him as "Birdman". A few seconds after I pulled my shoot, Birdman flew past me continuing his dive and "flight" in a spectacular fashion.

I heard that he died a few years later in a freak parachuting accident.

While I have hang glided, I may not be the best person to answer since I've not been sky diving.

That being said, I'll give describing it a shot. I went in Interlaken, Switzerland. I was anticipating a lot more of a stomach dropping sensation and it wasn't that at all.

The best way to describe it is that it's about the closest thing you'll get to actually flying. it's gliding but your instructor that goes with you, due to experience, is able to catch air streams and actually ascend at times. They can also make you drop down quickly at parts and do some spins. The sensation of being up there with just the hang glider and the wind was awesome.

It's definitely a very cool experience and one I would highly recommend

Agreed that would be incredible, do you know how many hours, or dives you need?

I'm with you. Been skydiving, that was scary but fun.

Hang gliding seems terrifying to me. I don't know if I could do that or base jump.

Most hang gliders wear back up parachutes. Same for paragliders..

Don't clip a tree on takeoff!

I've never glided but I did get to see the rescue of this.
