quote:Yeah Inquisition hasn't been very tough for me on nightmare, I think it's because I went straight back to KE and figured out that guard on hit on weapons and armor stack. So OP.
I don't usually ramp difficulty to nightmare, but I did do it for Inquisition.

Actually I kinda like the anti-grinding mechanic in PoE. After a certain number of kills you don't earn exp from that critter anymore.

Somehow I managed to get all the loot going directly to the stash, don't know how but man it's great.
SPOILER FOR THE EARLY IN THE GAME PLAYERS BELOW
Found I was too weak for some of the quests I was running into, wen't back to the stronghold and started running the 15 level dungeon below it and it's a great source for coin, exp, levels, and gear. I am up to level 7 of the dungeon so far.

pretty sure I am going to load this up when I get home today although I'm still not sure I am ready to micromanage the whole party.
Since I loved Baldur's Gate and Icewind, I feel almost obligated to buy this one.

You pretty much have to.

You don't have to. It's just best that you do. Anyone that says the same is too easy is microing a self-made team and not using the companions. Anyone who says it's too hard(quite a few from what I can tell) are not micromanaging and just think this is a game where you run through mobs like every other modern game.
The beauty of this game is that every encounter has some level of seriousness that deserves time well spent. I have about 25 hr's on my save and my group is only level 5. Currently in the first big city. Thinking I should go and explore more..
Two things about bugs right now (should be a patch coming today or this weekend):
DO NOT double click to equip things. (removes all passive abilities, racial stats etc. on the character)
Don't save/load in an area where you got a companion. (doubles the stats of the companion)
umm, and there is also a bug with game saves getting very bloated due to Chanter summons and ice trap locations being logged/saved instead of erasing..
Other than that the game has been very rewarding so far. Clearing an area feels like a great accomplishment.

Finally bought this today...found it on Gamesdeal website for $29.00 after the 4% paypal fee (paypal was my only payment option) but whatever...I had originally planned to wait until the summer sale hit before purchasing, but not now. Too bad I can't remote in to my home machine and start the download so that I can play when I get home.

It's not a huge download, 6.5 gig I think.

A little disappointed with DA: inquisition. Going to try this out on permadeath mode.

I learned tonight that certain choices can lock you out of completing quests. The completionist in me cried a little bit, but I applaud the design.

Patch 1.03 is out. Fixes all major bugs and does a little balancing. Major props to Obsidian for getting these fixes out on a holiday weekend.

WHAT THE frick!!!! While doing some quests I click on something and BOOM cut scene and the credits roll!!!!!! Less than 30 hours in and I had no clue that I was near the end of the game, it was just out of the blue, done, over, gtfo. There are even two zones that I haven't even gone to yet, this is seriously fricked up.
They broke the load/save times even more, I have this on my SSD and I can't imagine what it would be like on a a HDD.

After that last post I reloaded and traveled elsewhere, I think I just found the end game boss, I got owned!

Well, I played and found a couple bugs...decided to restart two days ago. I didn't know a patch was coming out, so I just restarted again tonight. I quickly made my way back to Defiance Bay.
All in all, it's a fun game. It really needs some AI, the micro-managing gets old fast. Other than that, this is a great game. It's better than Icewind Dale, on par with the original Baldur's Gate, but short of Planescape and Baldur's Gate II.
The only real negative I have is it's not based on AD&D rules so it takes a little while to figure out the nuances of the system. I'm praying Sword Coast Legends is a competent successor/gap filler.

Not if you're a fan of that type of combat

That's crazy. How do you stumble upon the end boss? With people finishing the game so fast it makes me question how truely long they were saying this game was. I expected 50hrs straight main line run, another 50hr or so in side quests.
IWD was kinda short to me as well, but I got that it was about different parties and trying different things. The combat was pretty challenging at times.

I paid $25 when I backed this game and have gotten more than my money's worth. I don't want to spoil anything so I wont talk about what happened. I am cleaning up side quests and tasks right now but am not far from finishing with almost 40 hours played.

I've read that the ending is lackluster. But I've been very satisfied with the game so far. I'm just taking it easy and enjoying the experience.

Still haven't been able to play much.
Seems like even simple dialog changes or ability stats can change things up drastically.
Only went through the opening stage then started over with a new build. The second run through, the chick got pissed because I wanted to rest to heal up Heodran and she left. Bitch!
Heodran got hurt because my lore skill was lower than the first run through so I couldn't use one of the dialog options.
So I lost a party member immediately because of my skills.
This game will probably be a completionists nightmare.
