100% not green nor stumpknocker. 90% young female bluegill.

Definitely bluegill. Be patient. Water will clear and fish will get to right color.

It's cleared some since I got grass on the banks and stuff but I don't think the clay particles are ever going to settle without putting chemicals in. I think it can be done for about $250.

Glad you all think it's bluegill.

^This

Green sunfish have a mouth and body shape of a goggle-eye/warmouth. They almost always have orange on the fins too. Hybrids also usually retain the orange fins and have a mouth larger than a bluegill.

If I had caught it, it would be a bluegill from murky water -- and we'd call it a bream.

It's a young bluegill. Not a coppernose though.

I used to catch the crap out of Greens in very small bodies of water around town. Things you would consider just a ditch. I can't remember the last time I even caught one.

Still got a lot down here, and I've caught a few in the basin.

Coppernose bluegill are awesome to catch on a flyrod when they mature. Those fish get huge.

I stocked coppernose so it would have to have gotten in there "naturally"

Your "coppernose" stocking was probably at least 10% other bream so it could have gotten in there that way.

Definitely a blue gill. Don't worry, it will get bigger.

Agree!

And the best way to get rid of 'em is frying.
