Trying to decide if I need to blacktop it. Cut and weed and feed added yesterday. Today I notice there is no grass present and I have those sprout weeds that have vines running all over. Pulled some up and there is only soil underneath. Any suggestions?

Hire Mexican.

point to picture of what you want your lawn to look like.

Give him Home Depot gift card.

Inspect work.

Pay Mexican.

Best plan is to nuke it and then sod it

I just realized he said he had no grass at all.

I'd get a rototiller and a few bags of EZ seed. just don't expect good results for another year or two.

Probably should go this route.

worked well for me. my house only had 4-5 rows sodded in the backyard. I used EZ seed for the rest, and within a year or so it looked pretty good.

Lawn was fine last year, but I noticed I was getting the bad weeds everyone was saying were so hard to kill. Small area so the weed and feed seemed to work last year. Might need to give the weed and feed a chance, but it's never looked this bad at this point.

Every yard looks bad thanks to all the rain we have gotten this year.

weed and feed is more preventative. it, along with long cut grass, prevents the weed from germinating. you want a post emergent to kill what's already appearing.

and if you don't have grass, fertilizer can only do so much

Weed and feed is typically post emergent I'm pretty sure
