I had to get some front bearings this morning for my mower and spotted something I didn't know existed.

Notice anything?

Motorwise?

I mean the number of companies who make yellow motors is pretty slim.

I bet this thing cuts like no other.

...and it says "CAT POWERED COMPACT DIESEL" in the background.

Looks like a mean machine.

With all that torque they should do hydrostatic drive for the blades....

FYI: Bad Boy Mower's website lists that one starting as low as $13,599.

Sure hope you have a lot of grass to grow if you spend 13k on a mower

Hell the mower is just for the dog yard and the front yard...and even with scooting along the first mow of the year took 3.5 hours today. That means 2 hours from now on.

Really need to invest in a large grooming mower.

I actually researched those quite thoroughly before I bought my Kubtoa Diesel. The Cats were in Ferris, Dixie Chopper, and Bad Boys but actually weighed more than the Kubota believe it or not. The other thing was they only made 30+hp so it has to be tier 4 emissions compliant so extra $$ on that stuff and it robs HP from the hydro pumps. The mower I bought is a 26hp with hydro pumps running blades and wheels. The Ferris was my front runner but the only dealer was an hour away and wanted full MSRP. My local Kubota dealer worked with me on price and has been incedible on maintenance so far. He even comes and picks it up if I can't bring it in for whatever reason.

What does that even sound like? I'm trying to imagine the smallest equipment I've ran

I liken it to a bobcat or small skid steer. When the blades engage it obviously sounds like a lawn mower but I had a B26 backhoe before I bought this with the exact same engine. It's pretty loud at near WOT or PTO speed.

They are junk.

We have 2 kubota diesels on a job and one of these. We can't keep bearings in it.

You can't kill the kubotas. My money would go toward the kubota.

They might be ok for home use.

I agree . Wish the gravely had more height settings but there is nothing in that price range that even compares to the hd series as far as being well built . So I'll sacrifice the lack of height settings

That was me too. You guys are talking "Cadillac" with Kubota & Gravely. Personally, I need a recommendation for a "chevy". Although, I do enjoy hearing all the experiences.

My mz48 bad boy has been flawless. The bearing I replaced today was my fault, I pressure wash twice a week during the cutting season and ruined the seal. Not bad for its 5th year.

I bought it for 3499 if I remember right.

Cuts quite a few acres and probably has 400 or so hours I guess.

The only thing I don't like... Terrible seat.

So the big cat powered mower sucks?

Well that's disappointing.
