Doing a little research for how I might be able to watch non-CBS games with a FireTV or Chromecast. Thought I'd drop this link here for anyone else interested.

LINK

ETA: Sideloaded March Madness Live app last night on the Fire TV. It has limited navigation, unable to bring up anything than the context menu so I can't choose a game to watch.

I also tried sideloading the Watch TBS app to see if that would work (specific to the LSU game tomorrow), and I had the same navigation issues. Both apps worked great on my tablet. Is there anyway to mimic the touch controls for firetv sideloaded apps?

I was able to cast the screen of my 2013 N7 to Chromecast, but it is in Beta and very much a glitchy playback experience. Same goes with tab casting from a desktop.

Looks like I have to have a Fire Tablet to mirror the app to my FireTV...I wonder if sideloading the android app would work...

I'll try that as well as chromecast screen mirroring when I get home tonight and update.

First I'm going to try and side load the android app to my Fire TV and if that doesn't work I'll stream to my Apple TV from my phone.

Now that I think about it the fire TV has the Amazon App Store on it so side loading may not be necessary.

I laugh at you people that cut the cord and then panic when you're trying to figure out how to watch something.

Yes, my cable bill is overpriced, but I can watch whatever the frick I want and don't have to use 14 different devices.

I'm saving over $1400 a year, i'll deal with the inconvenience for March Madness or just go to a bar. Laugh away.

My time is worth something, but it's not worth as much as I paid for satellite.

Still trying to track down an .apk of the MMLive app by the way, if I do I'll sideload and see if it works. too bad my FireTV got locked and so I had to un-root to get it going again or I would just go to the Google Play Store.

Since side loading the MM app doesn't work I'll just cast a chrome tab to my chromecast to watch the games. Seems to be the easiest solution for the devices I have.

I don't laugh, but it's worth the money to me to be able to watch anything I want whenever I want without thinking about how to make it work.

To some extent I do appreciate the cord cutters as they'll probably help change the industry. At the same time, a lot of them steal content and think they're superior because they're willing to spend a bunch of time to get TV to work, so that's annoying.

Could you use a mouse to navigate? I ask because I sideloaded WatchESPN when it first was added to FireTV because the FireTV version didn't have SECNetwork, and I could only get it to work with a mouse.

Also, do you have a link to the .apk by any chance?
