But it shouldn't be. You get the game when you're at least old enough to buy it yourself.

I don't see why people are so caught up on age in this thread it's all about maturity there are people that at 15 shouldn't be playing this game and there are people that if they played it at 10 they would still turn out absolutely fine.

You're so right. I actually want my kids to be productive citizens who hopefully understand the importance of giving back. Thumbs up.

Lets just hope that they aren't too sheltered that when they move out from under daddy's protective thumb and are on their own for the first time they don't go buck wild letting loose for the first time and end up in trouble because they're naïve about how the world works.

What? There isn't a point system in GTA and you don't get bonuses for killing sprees.

GTA V is far and away to most graphic and adult oriented GTA game. It's one of the only games I played where I actually felt uncomfortable playing it sometimes from a content stand point.

Also, from a gaming open world standpoint it is the shittiest GTA.

No 15 year should be allowed to play this game by their parents. If they find another way to play it, that is what teenagers do. They will find ways to drink, have sex or do drugs; but parents should never allow or empower their kids to do those things.

/thread

Your job as parent is to set ground rules and have consequences for breaking them.

Your job as a teenager is to break those rules without getting caught.

The fact that your teenager is to stupid to get the game on his own is alarming to me. The fact that he went to extra step to ask you is just down right retarded.

If your kid owns a smart phone, he has seen more violence and nudity then GTA could possibly provide.

And if he doesn't own a smart phone you can bet his friends do.

This is far from a true statement. I know plenty of teenagers with smart phones that have not seen what is contained in GTA V.

Apparently everyone assumes parenting no longer exists in society today.

Has someone of 15 years seen nudity, heck yes.

Has someone of 15 years seen a person receive oral sex and then kill the prostitute when finished, then go to the strip club, then go smoke some weed, then torture a random guy with pliers, then decide to let some cultist rape a women or not, then take another woman to cannibals who walk around with their penises hanging out, then do some meth, then shoot some cops, then hear n!gger said 1000 times and top it off with some homosexual sex talk.

If they have witnessed all this by age 15, there is a reason why this generation is f'ing worthless.

Sure they haven't seen the specifics, but I bet most have seen stuff that is just as bad.

The Internet just makes it too easy, to see a bunch of shite and most of this kids treat them as jokes.

Seriously GTA is one of the most popular video games ever. There are BILLIONS of youtube videos of it out there.

Too many of y'all are acting like people are saying the game makes kids serial killers. Literally no one said that in this thread. It just shouldn't be introduced to a kid by his parent. Your 15 year old will see boobs on the Internet. You wouldn't take your 15 year old to a strip club.

Need to block YouTube with its mountains of questionable material... /Sarcasm

I can see the argument that you don't agree with the content in GTA5 so you won't spend money on it. But you don't want to buy it for your teenage kids because of the subject matter might be too much for them, seems like a stretch.

The idea that it will have any negative effect on the kid is just laughable to me. If the kid can't separate a video game from real life then there is something wrong with the kid.

Sheltering kids has turned out poorly more often then not from knowing the kids I knew growing up.

Thank god my parents didn't give a frick what I played or watched. I was playing GTA IIIbin 3rd grade. I was watching many rated R movies when I was 7. I'm by far the most sympathetic person I know when it comes to empathy for other people and animals.

Again, you're not understanding the OP's original question. No one said the content will affect the 15 yr old's outlook on life. Would you buy the same 15 yr old a bunch of porn subscriptions?

That's still shitty parenting.

No because the kid probably already has enough porn downloaded on his laptop

How do? Nonenof that stuff disturbed me then. It's actually more likely to disturb me now. A child doesn't really understand all the time what they're seeing. Now reading I might agree with you. I started reading Sikence of the Lambs way too young and my dad was just like "you might not be old enough for that," and I read it anyway. Ugh

Again, an example of shitty parenting. Know what's going on in your house.
