thats not exactly true.

Nintendo traditionally makes profit on every console sold. (and is the only console maker to have that distinction)

The WiiU was the first to not be this way right off the bat but in the last year or so production has become cheap enough that they make money on consoles sold again.

Duh. They runs dozens of F2P games that are all about micro-transactions. To the point where people spending over $100 each week on the games.

PS4 has made profit from the get go too. Just a few bucks
Although there old system didn't, they lost money.
