LSU lost 10 games this year. However none of them were double digit losses except by 15 against Tenn. Total point difference in the 10 losses was 58 or 5.8 per game (including the 15 against Tenn). In every loss, IMHO, the opposition did not beat them. LSU beat themselves with turnovers, missed FT's, and uninspired play.

Tigers, hear me! If LSU had played in all their games like they showed they can play, they could have won all of them! No one blew them out, except Tenn, who was beaten by LSU by 18 in the first game.

The Tigers are an excellent team. They just need to bring their "A" game every time. I know it seems unlikely, but I think they are capable of beating every team in the tournament!!

Am I crazy or am I on target?!

Did I stump the Rant? I guess facts that show the Tigers in a good light are hard to take for negatigers.

You can say this for a ton of teams. It not so much about potential as it is how consistent you can be with that potential. I just dont like this argument for a positive one. Id rather something else showing LSU trending towards something positive rather than picking and choosing games. The auburn game really fricked that up.

My most positive argument is that Mickey will be rested and ready to go and he hasnt been lately. That + arkansas win.

See this way I was able to discredit the auburn loss. Surely we win with an uninjured Mickey

I like their chances in the tournament if only because they won't play any bad teams (the kind of teams LSU struggles against).

No LSU basketball in recent years has the potential that this one does.

M&M are both future NBA stars. Keith Hornsby always plays with intensity and has excellent shooting skills. Quarterman has improved immensely since last year and will continue to get better. Jalyn Patterson is sneaky good especially for a true freshman, makes few turnovers and can hit 3's. Josh Gray is getting better and has potential as he gains experience.

Best yet is the team has proven they can play defense!

Now that the veil of not making the tournament has been lifted, watch this team play with emotion and confidence!

Grey has really turned a corner since being benched. He still try's to force things sometimes and plays impatient but now grey is different than early grey.

Martin has the chance to be a very good NBA player. Mickey is gonna struggle to get consistent minutes in the NBA due to his lack of height, 6'7.5" with shoes at Nike Skills camp over the summer. And the fact that he can't play on the perimeter on either end of the floor and struggles to dribble and when he has to, he turns it over(leads the team in turnovers as a PF).

There's a reason why his stock has plummeted to the point where he won't be drafted and is the 80th best prospect according to draft express. He's too small to play vs NBA post players and isn't skilled enough to play on the perimeter. He should come back. He's a tweener in the wrong way. Martin is just the opposite. He's got the size to play down low and the skills to play on the perimeter.

But i agree with the rest of that post

Say what????

Martin will probably make a roster but it remains to be seen whether he'll stick around.

Mickey doesn't have the size or perimeter game to make it in the NBA. He'll play overseas.

But both being NBA stars??? No.

I agree with your assessment, however his skills as a shot blocker are exceptional and he can jump out of the gym. His mid-range jump shot has been off as has his free throw percentage, but he does have those skills. His game has just been off lately, but he will get back on track hopefully for the tournament. Maybe it has been because of his low iron levels, which was just discovered.

Indeed we will see very soon!

Some say the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. While generally true, not always the case. No one would have predicted Connecticut and Kentucky in the title game last year, especially in early February.

We have seem our own Tigers suddenly come alive in past NCAA tournaments after losing a few should have won games in regular season.

Big key is Mickey returning to early form, cannot have him or Martin in early foul trouble, and need to hit about 35% of their threes, no 3 for 17 nights from the perimeter.

The games against Kentucky, ARkansas, West Virginia show they can be competitive against top teams. Just gotta put it together at the right time.

No. You just posted at midnight.

IMO we have a very talented team, but young. We make silly mistakes that will only improve with experience. I think we wont be one and done in the tourney, but I don't see a final four appearance. Next year the tigers will be strong.

As expected, lack of FT percentage will destroy this team in the tourney, it's a shame

Not enough for him to make it in the NBA. As mentioned earlier, he can't play the perimeter on either side of the court well enough and he is too small to play down low.

The key in each of those games was Josh Gray.

As he goes, so goes our tournament.

For my money, I think he's going to play quite well.

If he gets 20+ minutes with few turnovers look out.

His ability to break down a defense is something LSU has not had in a long while and it is the absolute #1 thing in teams going far in the NCAAs.

LSU really can beat anyone in the Dance, anyone. When they are playing well and making shots they can match-up with anyone. However, they can also be beat by anyone. They seem to play to the level of their competition and lose focus. Not really good things for a big Tourney run. That said if they beat NC st I could see them getting to Sweet 16 easy.

Martin may be a solid pro pending on the team, but Mickey doesn't have a position in the NBA. 6'7 guys play the 3 now and he can't create his own shot and score like a 3 would.
