Guys I was supposed to fish the saltwater series tourny this weekend, but the boat owner can go now. Then I was going to fish a yak tourny in delacroix, but that got cancelled today. Thinking of fishing the marsh madness yak tourny in Cocodrie this weekend. Only problem is I've never fished Cocodrie lol. Got some Intel from a couple guys. Any other help would be much appreciated!

Are you forced to launch from Coco Marina?

Gotcha. Yes it will be tough. Only allowed 8 baits. I'm going to try and win the redfish division. Not even try for trout

I'll be doing the same tournament, you're not confined to just Coco. Check the LKFC page for the rules but if I'm understanding correctly you have to attend rhe 5:30am bait swap, be present for the blast off at Coco(6:15 I believe). From there you can either leave Coco or leave and launch elsewhere. There are boundaries though, their page has a map.

As far as your baits you don't neccesarily pick what you get to fish with. You put your name on a ziplock bag, in that bag you put 8 plastics of your choice, color variation encouraged, as well as 1 wildcard bait(top water, RatLTrap, spoon, etc). Each bag goes into a box, each participant pulls a bag and fishes with whatever is provided.

The only thing you're allowed to have on your boat is 8 jig heads of your choosing and 1 wildcard bait(top water, spinner, etc), 1 cork and leader material. And that's all.

If your bag of baits is used by the winner then you win the Top Bag pot which is $5 per participant.

ETA: we went do some scouting on Sunday but it was my first time as well. Odds are I'll be equally as clueless.

I hear you. Going to look at it again. The conditions will be bad, but I'll enjoy those conditions

I saw that, 90% chance of rain on Saturday but it says it's supposed to be in the afternoon. Of course that can change 5 times between now and Saturday. I'm still going though.

Also the gnats were horrible on Sunday, so bring something to address those bastards just incase.

I had to spray the gnat juice every 15 minutes. Ridiculous.

Heaviest 2 red stringer. Then a $5/participant side pot for if your bag of baits is used by the winner. Then an optional $5/person side pot for heaviest trout.

Give me a second, I'll copy/paste the rules. It's an interesting format with the bait swap.
