I hate to say it, but Disturbed's cover of Phil Collins' Land of Confusion is wayyyyyyyyyy better than the original.
I think it's an interesting cover, even a damn fine one. But to say that Disturbed's version is better than Genesis is just ludicrous.

Oddly enough, I clicked on the thread curious if someone had the nuts to go there. I just like the anger more from Dramain. Same with the angst of Cobain over Bowie (Man Who Sold the World) and the sorrow of Jules over Curt Smith (Mad World).
That's not to say any of those artists could have created that material on their own or even come close. They just put a spin on it that I prefer.

Hot Water Music - Radio
Huge Alkaline Trio fan, but the Hot Water Music version is a shite ton better.
The whole cd is badass as a split because Alkaline Trio covers Hot Water Music songs and Hot Water Music covers Alkaline Trio songs

Garland Jeffreys' version of '96 Tears'
But all this Vox organ reminds me of one of my favorite covers. I nominate:
The Kinks - "Who'll Be The Next In Line"
Sir Douglas Quintet - "Who'll Be The Next In Line"

Agree to disagree. I think it rocks a little harder.

Another great Dave Edmunds cover, though I don't know that I'd claim it's better than the original:

Kafka, I think you might find this interesting. It's a bunch of Zeppelin sound check recordings where they play Johnny Kidd and the Pirates songs.
