connecting RG6 to a/v receiver ?

I have a Denon3313 a/v receiver. I had Directv and Roku inputs, both on hdmi. I'm cutting cable and installed an antenna whose signal is distributed through the house on rg6 coax. Can I run the coax rg6 through the a/v receiver? There isn't a receptacle for it. I know I can connect directly to the tv, but would then have to run audio back to the a/v receiver.

Only if it's a 75 ohm FM antenna.
You need a device to convert the signal first. I haven't seen one but that doesn't mean that it doesn't exist.

No matter what you do, you'll need to run audio to the back of the receiver, one way or another. There are plenty of set top boxes with an rg6 input, ATSC tuner, and HDMI output. If you're doing this, then you're still running sound to the back of the receiver from something else.
Why don't you want it run from your TV?

I have the a/v receiver in a closet away from the TV and I'll have to pull wires through the wall. Looks like that's the best way.
thanks
thanks

Analog to digital converter box should have HDMI out...

Technicality, but there aren't really any more analog signals to be converted to digital. Most of what's out there are digital --> analog converters (the boxes were very available, even discounted when they were first available a few years back with the mandate that signals be converted from analog to digital). And what he needs is, most likely, a digital (atsc)--> hdmi box, given his description.
I don't mean to get to the nit-picky, but I could see him ordering the wrong thing based on this, so I point it out.

I sound that tech savy, huh?
I did see I could get an astc tuner, but that would create other problems I think (changing channels).
not to fear, I gave up and will fish an optical cable through the wall from the TV to the receiver....
thanks for everyone's help

I did not intend to sound offensive. Just that it's easy to buy something that's very close to the right thing that isn't what you want. There's a hundred different kinds of little boxes that look almost identical, but very few do the same thing.

How do you control your other devices behind the media closet door? Is it expandable? Something like the most recent Logitech Harmony Smart Control would give you an RF remote with blasters that also lets you control devices with your smartphone- and it's going for $100 refurbished on Amazon. That's probably more expensive than a long cable run, but it's got the advantage of being easier and more expandable.
Also, some TVs have program guide capabilities. Some do not. Same with the atsc-->hdmi boxes. Make sure to check on whether they do have them if that's important to you. A handful of the set-top boxes will also have DVR functionality. While DVR may not be necessary, when, say, watching the Saints on Fox, I think it's nice to be able to pause the game live or rewatch a highlight or two.

I only had Directv and Roku. Directv is now gone , but was RF remote, Roku connected to receiver also RF, but I used the app, and the receiver is networked, so controlled with an app as well.
Not sure if it's worth the trouble for me to set up DVR since I don't watch much network TV, but may be worthwhile for LSU n Saints.
