ask Indy how they're feeling about Peyton replaced with this 25 yr old

Drew is now an icon in NOLA. There is a price for everyone though. Even Joe Montana (+ 3rd) at age 37 got SF a 1st Rd pick.

If there was an Andrew Luck at the end of the tunnel we all would be down. We don't see any QBs with that pedigree and potential available.

Probably pointing to Brees potential trade happening another year, but not this draft.

yup, and if not a specific guy, there is a price for everyone. A 1st for Joe Montana at age 37.

Scenario I could see it...
Saints win SB. Brees gets extended. 2016 he has a major injury and the team finishes with a top 10 draft pick. Team X offers a mid 1st and a journeyman QB for the then 38yr old coming off injury with 2 years left of still sizable cap obligation.

PS
Current Top Rated QBs for 2017 Draft-
Cardale Jones QB 1 Ohio State rSo 6-5 250
Christian Hackenberg QB 2 Penn State So 6-4 234
Jeremy Johnson QB 3 Auburn So 6-5 230
Gunner Kiel QB 4 Cincinnati rSo 6-4 208
Joshua Dobbs QB 5 Tennessee So 6-3 203
Jared Goff QB 6 California So 6-4 198
Wes Lunt QB 7 Illinois rSo 6-4 215
Sean Maguire QB 8 Florida State rSo 6-3 220

Guess you missed the hypothetical thread before the season started with the question would you trade Brees for Luck.

Half the fans on here wanted to do the trade, and the other half called those fans not "true saints fans" for being willing to trade Brees. Then repeated over and over that Brees's huge cap hit won't effect the Saints, we won't have to get rid of any players to pay him, we'll just extend Brees to make extra cap room, he deserves that money for what he did in the past never mind the fact that he's going to be 38 years old making 28 million.

I'm pretty sure we knew where this offseason was headed once Graham was traded. "It wasn't about the cap" was baloney. Everyone crying about cap space needs to realize that next year will be different. The Saints are carrying 21 mil in dead money for 3 players (Graham, Lofton, Grubbs). Assuming that comes off, they are also not paying any of those guys next season. Graham and Lofton were under contract for next year. Hell, Over the Cap has them at 22 mil under for next season. Drews cap number only rises 2 mil from 15 to 16, not to mention he'll probably get extended.

I guess my point is that there is no reason to rush to trade him if the cap is manageable and he is still playing well.
