Will be having eye surgery this thursday and will be at home recuperating and mostly needing to keep my eyes closed for a few days.
What are some good audiobooks I should look into for the down time?
I was thinking maybe one the Game of Thrones books.

Honestly, game of thrones sounds perfect for an audio book.

What kind of fiction do you like? That's the way you should go...

The shows I recommend in this thread are like audio-only versions of The Twilight Zone or Alfred Hitchcock Presents. If you like those shows, give radio series like Dimension X/X Minus 1 or Suspense a shot.

Philip Marlowe, eh? Raymond Chandler's stories would be good for an audio book.

There was a TV version of Marlowe in the late '50s. It's not that great -- the lead is miscast -- but fans might be interested.
I only know of two available episodes, which you can see here. The first is by far the best.

My audible list. Some of them are not the first in the series, so do some internet searches to get the series in order or you'll be confused.
Mostly fantasy types, but the McKinty and Demilles are more action/realistic.
