Has the racial divide in our country broadened or lessened in the last decade?

And if it has broadened, are we actually taking steps to improve "the situation"?

What is the "situation"?

It has gotten wider. Believe it or not, having a black president has made the nation more racist.

I think it is much better than the Political Board would have you believe.

I think less people are racist than usual, just that the ones that are are way more vocal and have more outlets to show their stupidity

I wonder if the media coverage of non-PC stuff incites more friction from all sides.

Well, I don't really wonder it. It does.

And they love it.

I was excited when Obama got in office because I thought that would create more racial harmony, but he has broadened the gap more than I could ever imagine. (with the help of his appointments and wife)

Gotten worse, the double standards and constant over reaction to anything deemed politically incorrect with the 24 hour news cycle pouring gas on every little fire and always making it much worse. Every little event is so over blown these days and the actions of a few dumb individuals on both sides are played over and over adnaseum.

Social media and everyone having to put their two cents in, troll others and start more shite just ads to it.

At the end of the day though, at least for me daily interactions don't seem much different. It could really be said the class devide is more wide than ever with ignorant have nots on both sides causing most all of the unrest.

Lessened, but the media makes you think there is still a huge divide.

Both. Broadened from the macro-perspective, lessened from the micro-perspective.

Social media has been one of the worst things possible for race relations. There have always been idiots in this country (like frat boys singing inappropriate shite), but now we all get to see it. In no universe is it wise to hand technology to morons who can type and push send without thinking first.

About the same. The folks that were racist 50 years ago when "White Only" signs were the usual are still racist. And the ones that weren't racist probably are still not racists.

The children are likely similar to their parents.

People here love racial talk. It's why these threads routinely go 20+ pages. Low class fricks like TGRLEE need people to shite on so they feel better about their pathetic lives.

It's not about black, white, yellow or brown. The only color that matters is green.
