Pizza delivery driver attacked. No money, phone, or car taken

TUSCALOOSA - AL - Another pizza delivery driver attacked on the job - this time in Tuscaloosa. The worker is recovering at D.C.H. with severe injuries to much of his body. ABC 33/40 spoke with his family and co-workers. Investigators at the Tuscaloosa Police Department are trying to track down the suspects responsible for attacking the Domino's driver. "Really loves the customers, loves being around them and working with them," Chris Darwin, Operations Manager, Domino's Pizza said. Billy Mullenix was delivering pizzas at an apartment in Aspen Village. His daughter says the suspects beat nearly every part of his body. He has a broken jaw, two broken ribs, and a head injury. "They got him from head to toe," Mallory Mullenix, his daughter said. "I just don't understand how someone can do that to someone who is just trying to make an honest living." His co-workers at Domino's on Skyland Boulevard say they're thankful he's going to be ok. "It was awful - never what you want to hear about someone getting hurt trying to deliver a pizza," Darwin said. "We leave the store with less than $20. We don't carry a lot of cash. for someone to get injured from someone trying to take a pizza is just sad." "It's so shocking," Mullenix said. "It's just for the pizza. They didn't take his phone, his money, they didn't even take his vehicle. It just doesn't make any sense."
